Is it performative to post before passing rain tech? πŸ€”πŸŒ§οΈ

Not only did we place fifth at Formula Hybrid + Electric last week, we also won the Scrutineer's award and Test Equity award for being the best prepared for both mechanical and electrical inspection! We were the first through all technical inspection, and completed rain tech on the first try. In addition to these awards, we won the IEEE Engineering the Future Award, highlighting our dedication to creating a robust vehicle and preparing extensively for the competition.

Yesterday, eight drivers got their first chance behind the wheel of RM29 at full torque. The drivers and the car both did great, with zero electrical faults or mechanical failures. (Rest in peace to the cones that shattered because it was so cold outside though)

Today, drivers will face off in a shootout to determine our six drivers for the Formula Hybrid + Electric competition. Stay tuned for more!

Chassis Cutoff!

Last week, the team met the first major milestone of manufacturing RM29, chassis cutoff. Once all of the tubes and mounts are jigged and welded in place, the chassis can be cut off the welding table. This represents many long hours from many people in shop, and we're now more excited than ever to see RM29 running!

Happy New Year from Rensselaer Motorsport! 2025 was a big year for us, as we unveiled RM28 and proudly presented it at two competitions.

We are looking forward to unveiling this season’s car, RM29, this March (only 3 months away!) This is one of the most important parts of the year for Rensselaer Motorsport, and we could use your help! Send us a message or join us for our meetings in the first week of the upcoming semester if you are interested in helping out! We need all hands on deck, from all disciplines of work!

Team drive day! 🏎️🏎️🏎️
18 members of our team who've been working hard on RM28 this past year got the opportunity to take it for a drive. This is one of the last times RM28 will ever run, and it was great to send it out with the entire team.

(No cones were harmed in the making of this post)

On National Manufacturing Day, the team showed off our hard work manufacturing RM28 by driving on campus 🏎️🏫
Thank you to everyone who made the day special, and thank you to RPI Public Safety and EH&S for making it possible!

2025 FSAE EV Recap!

This past week displays the incredible dedication of our team. We achieved many firsts in RM history, including our first EV to pass accumulator and electrical inspection! We are grateful for the support of all our alumni and sponsors who helped us along the way.
Despite the fact that RM28 had run for many miles in the rain, we unfortunately were not able to pass rain tech due to an IMD fault, preventing us from competing on the track.
However, the bitter end only pushed us harder to make a better car. As soon as we arrived back in shop from Michigan, team members started troubleshooting our IMD issue. It has since been resolved and we're looking forward to more testing days with RM28 to gather data for RM29.
We'll see you on the track next year!
