🚑 🚧 🚓🚨🚛 Community Helpers Day at Troy Elementary School is always one of our very favorites! We enjoyed having so many wonderful professionals visit. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, view and even get inside service vehicles, and see demonstrations from the very people who help our community each day within their professions.

THANK YOU to the many Community Helpers that make a difference in all our lives each and every week!

Help us celebrate Mrs. Stewart’s intern, Miss Sudderth and their first-grade class!

While Mrs. Stewart has been on maternity leave, Miss Sudderth completed a 4-week reading coaching cycle with Mrs. Yance, working extremely hard to help her students grow in reading and spelling words with digraphs.

Their hard work is paying off! The class showed a combined 45% growth in this skill, growing together in their ability to read and spell new words! Even more importantly, these students have taken pride in their work, celebrated their progress, and continued to push themselves to become stronger readers.

That is what it means to have the Heart of a Trojan and the Heart of a Reader — working hard, believing in yourself, and taking pride in how far you’ve come!

We are so proud of Miss Sudderth and Mrs. Stewart's first grade class for the growth they have made together! 💙🧡💙

Third grade from Troy Elementary School had the opportunity to participate in the Pike County-Alabama Extension "Farm Day" Field Trip last week.

Our 3rd grade students had great fun learning more about animals, farming equipment, local resources, and farming within our community.

Thank you to the many entities and businesses that make hands-on days like this possible for the children!

🧡💙 What a fun and educational day! 🧡💙 Recently, the Troy Elementary School TAG program attended a concert sponsored by the Troy Arts Council of Troy Alabama.

Nashville musicians Jaimee Paul and Leif Shires presented an interactive concert, "The Musical Genius of George and Ira Gershwin".

These TES TAG students topped off the day by eating lunch in the dining hall at Troy University – a delicious highlight of the trip!

🧡💙 Mrs. Shellhouse’s 4th grade math classes are finishing the 9️⃣ weeks strong! 💪

They are firming up all the standards that have been covered this nine weeks. Students are taking ownership of their learning, and Mrs. Shellhouse is ensuring students have the strategies, tools, and knowledge needed to be successful!

Great job to these 4th graders and also to our new 4th grade Math Teacher, Jessica Snellhouse. We are of the progress you have already made this year!
