๐Ÿ“ข Montgomery County Schools Announces New Principal of Montgomery Learning Academy

Montgomery County Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kirk Watts as the new Principal of Montgomery Learning Academy, home of the Wildcats! ๐Ÿพ

Mr. Watts brings 19 years of experience in education, including 13 years of dedicated service with Montgomery County Schools. Since joining the district in 2013, he has served in a variety of impactful roles, including 7th grade science and social studies teacher at East Middle School, Digital Learning Coach, Project Lead the Way Engineering teacher, social studies and seminar instructor at Montgomery County Early College, Middle School Career Development Coordinator, Interim JCPC Coordinator, and Assistant Principal at Montgomery Learning Academy. Most recently, he served as Assistant Principal for both Montgomery Learning Academy and Montgomery Central High School.

Mr. Watts shared:

I am committed to creating a safe, respectful school where students can succeed and individualized education plans meet each learner's needs. ๐ŸŽ‰ Highlight: Montgomery Learning Academy recently celebrated their scholars with a special โ€œSenior Dayโ€ event! Seniors had the opportunity to help plan the menu while MLA staff fired up the grill for a fun-filled day of celebration. Students enjoyed dancing, spending time with classmates, and even a friendly game of kickball! ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ”

A special thank you goes to Savannah Aviles for helping organize the menu and activities. The entire MLA team did an amazing job making sure the event was a success and a memorable experience for the seniors.

Montgomery Learning Academy has had an amazing Teacher Appreciation Week! ๐ŸŽโœจ

We kicked things off Monday with Chick-fil-A minis ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿฅ, followed by delicious Bundt cakes and cookies from Communities in Schools on Tuesday ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿช.

On Wednesday, we enjoyed a loaded Baked Potato Bar ๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿง€, and on Thursday, we were filled with muffins, bagels, and egg rolls made by Ms. Lo ๐Ÿฅฏ๐Ÿง๐Ÿฅข.

To end the week on a sweet note, we had cake from the Montgomery County Board of Education ๐ŸŽ‚ and a wonderful lunch catered by Roniโ€™s Kitchen in Mt. Gilead ๐Ÿฝ๏ธโค๏ธ.
