Band teachers! If you are looking for some exercises to give your beginning and intermediate flute students to help them boost their confidence, you can't go wrong with long tones and octaves! Long tines help with two key factors of flute fundamentals: lung capacity and tone. Every great flutist knows you need tons of air to play this instrument! Long tones also train their ear and build those embouchure muscles! Octave slurs and jumps get those muscles stronger and prevent cracking. Message me for some examples!

Hi Friends!

I just received a message about Zoom lessons so I wanted to take a minute to let you all know that I am open and available to do Zoom lessons as well. I did a few Online sessions during the initial Covid Lockdown so I'm familiar with how to make this work. If you are a teacher interested in booking an online session either for yourself to strengthen your confidence in teaching beginner flute or if you are interested in an online group lesson for your students, feel free to contact me to get the ball rolling!

Hi friends!

If you don't know me, let me introduce myself!

My name is Caitlin, and I am a passionate flutist! I've been playing this instrument since middle school and completed a Bachelor's Degree in Instrumental Music with emphasis on Flute from Arkansas Tech University. After graduating in 2015, I began my journey of teaching my favorite instrument both privately and in group settings; traveling to different schools, teaching out of my home, and even coming to my students in their home.

I absolutely loved this job, and hoped to bring it with me when I moved to Michigan. I took a break for a while to get settled, start a family, and now I'm ready to get back into it! I have a lot of dreams and goals for teaching. I would love to have a full enough roster of students to even create some ensembles and maybe even a flute choir! Rehearsing and performing with your peers is one of the best ways to truly build your craft, but also a great way to build a sense of community as a musician.
