Our central mission is to help students learn to build the reading and writing skills they need to succeed in whatever area of life or career they choose.

Fall 2017 Hours of Operation:
Monday - Wednesday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Thursday: noon-5
Friday: 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tuesdays at 9 a.m. in the Smith Hall conference room: writing workshops

Thursdays 8 a.m. - noon in the Writing Center: reading workshops and ENG0096+1100 small groups

Fridays at 2 p.m. in the Writing Center: graphic novel reading group

Fall semester hours are in effect August 16 - December 5. We are closed July 31 - August 15.

It's the last day of classes! Congratulations on getting to the end and finishing strong! If you are writing a final essay and want to come in to talk with us about your writing, we would love to see you.

We are CLOSED on Dead Day (12/5) so our tutors can study for their exams.

We are offering walk-in hours (no appointment required) during Fall 2018 finals.

Our Story

We are closed December 13 - January 8. We will reopen on January 9 (the first day of Spring semester).

Spring 2019 Hours of Operation:
Monday - Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Fridays: 9:00 a.m. - 3 p.m.

We close each day from noon to 1 p.m.

Our drop-in hours are 2-4 Monday through Thursday.

We operate by appointment only from 9-noon and 1-2 Mondays through Thursdays and all day on Friday. To sign up for an appointment, just use our scheduling software: calendly.com/troywritingcenter . (Our Spring appointments will be available the first week of January 2019).

We are closed whenever classes are cancelled (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Veterans’ Day, Dead Day, Spring Break week, and Thanksgiving week).
