The Uwharrie and Sandhills regions regularly rank highest in NC for harvested timber income. Forestry and natural resource management are major activities. Recent local survey responses demonstrated public need for education in wildlife management and funding opportunities for landowners.

Please join us for Animal Waste Operator Certification Training on October 26 and 27, 2026, at 155 Hillcrest Park Lane, Carthage, NC 28327. Both Type A and Type B will be offered.

Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the class beginning at 10:00 a.m. Renewal credits will be offered on October 26 for operators who are attending to maintain their current certification. All 6 hours will be offered.

$20 – Registration and training manual
$5 – Renewal credits only

October 27 – Type B Additional Hours
Additional hours required for Type B certification will be taught on October 27. Class will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Registration Deadline: October 19, 2026
Payment: Cash or check only. Checks should be made payable to Montgomery County Extension Program Funds.

What a super fun week at 4-H Day Camp! 20 kids from Montgomery County had the opportunity to travel by school bus to Millstone 4-H Camp each day where they participated in daily activities (i.e. canoeing, rock climbing, giant swing, riflery, archery, crafts, etc).
What a great way to end our 4-H Summer program!
A huge thank you to all of the individual donors who help fund this summer program, the Montgomery Fund grant for helping fund this program, Montgomery County Schools for providing our bus, to Ms. Beverly for driving for us, to all of the camp staff and to the parents for trusting us with your children!
We are looking forward to next summer already! 🍀
