As a professor of modern world history let me suggest that everyone, every American, every patriot needs to consider seriously what is presented in this opinion piece from the Washington Post.. because, yes indeed America’s democracy and indeed its unity— so long admired around the world is floundering…

A military breakdown mirroring societal or political breakdown would put all Americans at severe risk.
