Hey, there! I'm back from a couple of days at , Kentucky, and here are 9 metaphorical life lessons that popped into my head while hiking (well, actually, I came up with more but there is this 10 photo limit for posts... 🙄 ).

1. Sometimes, the path has risks - be prepared (we used cleats for hiking).

2. Sometimes, the path is narrow (as in you don't have many options) - learn to be resilient to get through this phase.

3. Sometimes, others may have gone your exact path - ask them for advice.
Surround yourself with people who lift you up and support you.

4. Circumstances may not be ideal - find a way to make it happen anyway (temperatures were below usual at 15 degrees F/-8 degrees C, and I had second degree burns on my fingers from boiling water which made hiking a little cumbersome). ✌️

5. You've got to make the best out of your life. Learn to be resilient.🌱

6. Sometimes, the challenge you're facing seems big. The only way to conquer it is step by step. 💪

7. Sometimes, your path is exhausting - perseverance, discipline, and motivation will get you to your goal. ✌️

8. Sometimes, the path is rough but the result is rewarding.🤩

9. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. 🙌

Yesterday I had surgery. Nothing serious, but something that ultimately had to be done. To be honest, about 30 years ago a doctor already told me it should be done. But I was so afraid that I didn't go through with it. However, over the past few months, my health has been deteriorating. Up until a few years ago, my fear would have driven me insane. Not so now. 💪

Here's what I've learned over the last years by changing my mindset: ‼

- We get used to the suboptimal, the average at best. And this applies to so many people. Be it in our jobs, relationships, health, and well-being. We gradually slip into this suboptimal state because we don't reflect. We don't realize that we are not happy, not healthy, not fulfilled. We just drift through life. It's up to us to change that! Who else should do it for us? We, and no one else, are responsible! 💯

- I didn't focus on the surgery and the days afterward when I would feel bad. I rather focused on the medium- and long-term positive changes in my life. The prospect of being able to enjoy many things more again and my quality of life improving. This made all the difference! 🙌

- I also became more aware that there are so many people out there going through way more serious health issues, and that I am lucky to only have to deal with this rather smaller surgery. I'm sending out healing vibes to everyone who needs to heal!🙏

On the day of my surgery yesterday, I was calm, not anxious. And this mindset shift is having a positive effect on my healing process, too. Even without painkillers, I have no pain. I still feel a little drowsy, but I'm taking my time and rest. Everything is fine. I'm happy, grateful, and also a little proud to see how my positive mindset is impacting my life for the better. Mindset is everything, guys! 💯

💫 A big thank you to Mindset Coach Judy for an incredible Living Healthy – The Power of the Phoenix Mindset workshop!

We learned that resilience isn’t just about pushing through — it’s about adapting, growing, and transforming under pressure. 🌿💪

Judy guided us through how to deactivate triggers and understand and calm the brain’s threat sensor. As well as upgrade our mindset and make the shift from reacting to thriving, and turn challenges into fuel for growth.
