The verdict is in!!! What an incredible 3 days at the Region 11 Math Coaching Academy!
We dug deep into what really moves the needle for both students and coaches:

🧮 Making math more engaging and relevant for elementary students through real-world connections
🧮 Making professional development better (and more meaningful)
🧮 Digging deeper into math data so we can turn numbers into action

⭐️One of the highlights⭐️

👨🏽‍⚖️Coaches stepped into a high-stakes scenario where they had to convince a panel of “math coach judges” of their role and impact — all grounded in data and the Alabama Coaching Framework.

The conversations were rich, the thinking was sharp, and the growth was real!

Grateful for this powerful community of math coaches who show up ready to learn, lead, and lift student achievement across Region 11.

🧬 Ploidy?! Husbandry?? 🧬

Those were just a couple of our favorite new words this past week at our 7th-grade training, Genes and Molecular Machines. These teachers powered through four days of hands-on learning while investigating genetic concepts. They were such a fun group to work with, and we know they are going to do great things!

Wrapping up summer with amazing educators in the Wiregrass!

This week, it was a privilege to learn alongside some of our amazing K–2 teachers from Region 11 as we dug into the Measurement and Data standards. Through rich mathematical conversations, hands-on learning, and collaboration, we explored ways to build students’ understanding while creating meaningful learning experiences they can carry into the classroom.

Thank you to each teacher for your engagement, thoughtful questions, and willingness to learn from one another. Your dedication to strengthening mathematics instruction will make a lasting impact on the students you serve every day.

We can’t wait to see these ideas come to life in classrooms across Region 11! 💙✨
