Have you noticed we have some new trees at the Lansingburgh Branch?? planted these in the spring, and they've gotten so big!
โDid you know? Capital Roots staff (like their wonderful intern Melissa, pictured here) come every few weeks to water the trees. Each tree gets 2 buckets of water (and the oak gets 3!) ๐ณ๐ชฃ๐ชฃ
We also have a volunteer sprouting under our sign- comment down below if you can spot what's growing! ๐ฑ (*hint- it's similar to something you can pick up for free during Squash Hunger on Wednesday @ noon, also a partner program with Capital Roots!)

This Thursday! Discover the history of one of Troy's most famous figures! The name Henry Burden is associated with Troy's affluent past, built on the might of the Industrial Revolution. In the 19th century, Troy was considered to be the fourth wealthiest city in the country, and the local production of iron and steel products contributed materially to the nation's Industrial Revolution. A captain of Industry, Henry Burden led the way to this expansive prosperity. But who was he? How did this Scottish-born engineer come to be this Trojan Titan?
Learn more at this presentation given by Susan Oullette, Professor Emeritus of History at Saint Michael's College and Executive Director of the Burden Iron Works Museum. Free and open to the public. No registration necessary.
