✨ WILLING HANDS ✨
A DBT skill that helps you shift from tension to openness — right through your body. 💚
Willing Hands is a posture of openness and willingness. When we unclench our fists and turn our palms upward, we signal to our brain: “I’m open to this moment.”
How to practice:
1️⃣ Sit or stand with your shoulders relaxed.
2️⃣ Rest your hands on your lap or at your sides, palms facing up.
3️⃣ Take a slow breath and notice any softening in your body.
4️⃣ Repeat quietly: “I’m open to what is.”
This simple posture reminds us: openness invites calm, and calm invites clarity.
Let go of resistance, open to what is, and notice how your energy changes. 🌞
Why it works:
This small shift activates your parasympathetic nervous system — calming your body, reducing anger, and helping you access Wise Mind. 🌞
🧘♀️ A DBT skill for those moments when tension takes over — your hands can lead the way back to wise mind.
💬 Try it when you feel defensive, frustrated, or stuck — your body can lead your mind toward balance.
