Some precious documentation of my 2nd summer as a Land Art Resident The Verdancy Project (sound on for deep listening asmr & a couple fave summer songs)

I returned to the same spot as my installation from last year & created a new quilt like composition. Refreshing it with foraged biodegradable material while also utilizing remnants of the previous piece (such as pine cones, branches, bramble) I presented the installation by facilitating the deep listening exercise “extreme slow walk” on top of the work. Participants directly engaged with the installations textures/sounds/scents, listened to one another’s experience and practiced the art of attention (Ornelas Hector even using a portable scanner to document various sections 😍 seen in the last 2 slides).

Listening to where my art practice leads has taken me to places of immense gratitude. 🙏 Thank you Shannon Amidon - Artist for your generous support in the slow process of alignment through trust, embracing impermanence and the gift of spacious to create The Verdancy Project 🌱💚🌲

Verdant Publishing, an imprint of The Verdancy Project is proud to announce the upcoming publication of A Thousand Flames, by Corey S. Pressman Corey S. Pressman.

Pressman’s debut collection, A Thousand Flames, offers poems of secular devotion, where a bird feeder can stand as the axis mundi and the bees have a god of their own. Across twelve sections, they travel from a Rockland County childhood to a hilltop in the fog, and as far back as the rooftops of Neolithic Çatalhöyük. Each poem asks you to slow down and stay a little longer than expected.

Remember Death. Be held by the Earth.

Receive clarity, support, and wisdom from nature as you reflect on the inevitability of death. It is counter-intuitive, but facing the truth of mortality brings more aliveness and joy to daily life. Death comes to all living beings; everyone we know, everyone we love will eventually meet their mortality. Western culture struggles to look at the truth of death. During this workshop, listen to your body and to the land as you explore the reality of death and impermanence that exist within each moment of life.

Together we’ll be asking the questions:
What does our Earth know of death?
How can you turn to the natural world as a teacher of impermanence?

When: Saturday, October 17th, 1-4:30pm

Our last featured summer land art installation was created by TVP founder & director Shannon Amidon - Artist. Sanctuary is a large nest like structure with a little hidden alcove to hide & nap. Made with tree branches, moss, mulch and rebar.
