Our final day of training before the fun begins this Tuesday was all about literacy! 📚🦅

Our staff spent the day digging into **UFLI Foundations** and **The Daily 5** and planning how we will use them in our classrooms this year. **UFLI Foundations is an evidence-based, explicit and systematic phonics program grounded in the science of reading**, while Daily 5 provides a structure for helping students build independence, stamina, and strong literacy routines.

One of the really cool things about UFLI is how much they make available to everyone! Their website is packed with **free resources** for teachers and families who want to support children as they learn to read.

Trout Creek School staff spent time today learning with School Services of Montana, focusing on standards-based grading and proficiency scales.

Collaboration was in full swing for today's training provided by MTPLC. Trout Creek School staff participated in The Mandt System Relational Training, which focuses on building healthy relationships, strengthening communication, and responding to challenging situations in ways that preserve the dignity and safety of everyone involved.

The training emphasizes that strong relationships are the foundation for creating safe, supportive learning environments. Staff practiced skills in communication, recognizing and managing stress, de-escalation, and working together to support students before situations become crises.

We are grateful for the opportunity to continue learning and growing as a team as we prepare to welcome our Eagles back to school! 🦅
