Ram Nation is on the rise! 📈

Our 2026 State Report Card shows an Overall Rating of 3 Stars, up from 2 stars back in 2023! 🌟

The biggest driver of that growth? Our Progress Score, which climbed all the way to 5 STARS this year. We also saw Chronic Absenteeism drop to 43.2%, meaning more students in their seats and more students succeeding.

This progress reflects the hard work of our students, teachers, and families. Thank you for being part of the journey, here's to 100% student success!

ROTC Program Featured by National Robotics Foundation! 🚁

Big congratulations to Lieutenant Colonel Odell Graves, our JROTC Senior Army Instructor, who was recently featured by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (RECF) for building an incredible drone program from the ground up!

What started with just four cadets and very little experience has grown into a full JROTC drone club with three competitive teams. LTC. Graves was also recently named RECF's Event Partner of the Year, and through his leadership, approximately 450 regional cadets have gained hands-on drone experience through a summer STEM training program.

Beyond flying and coding, students are building confidence, teamwork skills, and even pursuing degrees in engineering, aviation, and technology because of this program.

Game Day Guidelines 🏈

A few quick reminders to keep our athletic events safe and fun for everyone:

🟥 Stay in the stands until halftime, and return by the start of the second half
🟥 Arrange rides by 4th quarter, students must be picked up within 15 minutes of game ending
🟥 Middle schoolers need an adult to attend (max 4 students per adult)
🟥 No loitering in the parking lot after the game
🟥 Concessions close after the 3rd quarter
🟥 Restrooms lock at the end of the game

Come out, show your Ram Pride, and cheer on our team! We just ask everyone to help keep things safe.

📣 STAFF SPOTLIGHT 📣

This week, we're celebrating a few staff members who are going above and beyond for our students and school community.

Mrs. Marian Smith has built meaningful relationships with some of our most challenging students, supporting them emotionally and academically in ways that truly make a difference.

Ms. Airrica Sherrer has been instrumental in supporting our general education classrooms, jumping in with co-teaching and helping create a more manageable, supportive learning environment for teachers and students alike.

Coach Rutherford has done an outstanding job as our 8th Grade Student Encourager, building strong relationships with students in his wing and stepping up to support staff and students throughout the building.

Thank you all for your hard work, dedication, and willingness to go the extra mile. It does not go unnoticed!

Today we honor the lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the resilience that followed.

Unsung Hero Alert! 🚌

Meet Hubert Shropshire, our district mechanic and an absolute unsung hero, especially after last Friday's severe thunderstorms. Hubert navigated downed power lines and fallen trees to help get our buses to safety, and even freed a bus that was trapped by a fallen tree by chaining it and moving the tree himself so the route could continue.

Thank you, Hubert, for everything you do for our students, on and off the buses!

The Level Up Mental Health Summit is happening Saturday, September 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Temple Church. This free event is designed to equip parents and guardians with the knowledge, tools, and resources to support their children's mental health, with expert led sessions covering topics like bullying, social media influences, family communication, and coping strategies.
