Trinidad State College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association and has been since 1962. Established in 1925, Trinidad State College was the first community college in the state of Colorado. With an enrollment of about 1,800 students on two campuses, Trinidad State offers courses in many diverse areas including Gunsmithing, UAS-Drones, Cosmetology, Welding a

nd Nursing as well as traditional Arts and Sciences classes such as English, Physics and Chemistry. Trinidad State is a friendly school with campuses located in Trinidad and Alamosa. The college is proud of the individual attention students can gain from faculty members who take a personal interest. WELCOME TROJANS!

Whether you are returning, or brand new here, you are welcome and we love seeing you on campus.

This week both the Alamosa and Trinidad Campuses have been alive and buzzing with plenty of student activity. From Orientations on both campus locations to our awesome TSC Convocation kicking off the year with all of us together.

Some major updates around both campuses as well with the addition of reporting of the concrete access ramp outside of the Scott Gym to the big renovation project at the Valley. Both projects are making great progress.

Welcome week this week with lots of awesome opportunities put on by our Student Services on both campuses, so don’t be shy! Come out and get to know your leaders and other peers on both campuses.

We look forward to helping you in any way we can to achieve success and here at Trinidad State.

TRINIDAD STATE COLLEGE RECEIVES $125,000 GRANT FROM THE DENVER FOUNDATION’S REISHER SCHOLARS PROGRAM

Trinidad, CO, August 10, 2026 — Trinidad State College announced today it has received a $125,000 grant from the Reisher Scholars Program at The Denver Foundation as part of a landmark $25 million initiative marking the 25th anniversary of the program. The funds will be directed to students at Trinidad State College over the next two academic years.

Rural Colorado is building some pretty remarkable things. Come see for yourself.

On Tuesday, August 25th, Southern Colorado Startup Week comes to Fremont County, and Emergent Campus is excited to host a full day in Florence and Canon City.

We’ll start the morning by Breaking Rural Stereotypes, with conversations about what innovation, entrepreneurship, and frontier technology really look like outside the Front Range - including advanced satellite technology keynotes from Narravity and Anubislabs, and some of the companies building the future right here in Southern Colorado.

Kick off the new semester with an outdoor movie night at Trinidad State!

Join us in The Pit on the first day of classes for a showing of GOAT. The Pit is located between the Berg building and the Library. The movie will begin at 8:00 p.m., or as soon as it is dark enough for the screening.

Gather with fellow students, faculty, and staff for an evening under the stars and enjoy a fun way to celebrate the start of the fall semester.
