HS Food Science has been busy the past two weeks preparing jellies and jams! Check out our new inventory of jellies at Thumper Hardware!

We are also in need of jelly jars, so we have started a punch card system. If you return 12 jars to Thumper, you get a jar of jelly free!

If you weren’t able to make it to Graduation or into the gym this past week, a three year project was finally finished!

With the help of t-shirt donations from community members, especially the Gooch Family for a majority of the shirts, the HS FACS class was able to get the cover for the scores table finished!

Three FACS classes helped by cutting, ironing and sewing this large 3 foot by 22 foot project together. We tried to get a picture with all the hands who helped as they are post grads, current grads and underclassmen but we’re unable to.

This was made to protect the scoreboard during practices and when it was not in use. While it won’t be up all the time, we will be working on two more smaller projects to showcase the evolution of the Jackrabbit and GCHS.

The capstone Applied Business class is competing at the inaugural Western Kansas Wildcard Competition at Fort Hays for a chance to move on to the state competition in Manhattan in a few weeks.

We held our local Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge Competition today.

We had three grade levels competing and we would like to share the results! This has been one the best years with top winners all being within 3-5 points of each other. It was a tough competition and all the kids did a great job!

⭐️SENIOR SPOTLIGHT⭐️

During the month of February, we celebrate our seniors’ accomplishments in Career and Technical Education classes. 10 of the 11 seniors were completors in 18 pathways.

Each of these seniors have successfully completed the required introductory, technical and application level courses in their respected pathways. They will all wear cords representing their designated pathways for graduation.

February is CTE Month!

Our school district has 10 pathways with many opportunities for students. Students have the ability to take classes from 8th grade to 12th grade to earn CTE credits toward an area of their interest.
