I would just like to say a HUGE Thank You to all who donated to our classroom wishlist! It’s been like Christmas the whole month of August with the packages of staff boards, Lysol wipes, Kleenexes, pencils, snacks, and quiet space supplies! 🥹 You truly made this Music Teacher cry with the beauty of your generosity and support for our middle and high school singers. I’m so grateful to teach in a community who values our students and ALL the ways they are talented from Academics, Arts, and Athletics.
🎶❤️🎶 May the blessings you have given to us return to you tenfold! 🎶❤️🎶 THANK YOU!!!

As we mourn the loss of American icon, singer/songwriter, philanthropist, and all-around fantastic person, Dolly Parton, let us also remember that at one point Dolly was just a kid in a music class.

Thank you for the countless ways you gave back to educational music programs in Tennessee, to kids all over the country through mailbox book programs, and through your expansive music career.

Thank you, Dolly.

The 7th Grade Chorus is rehearsing a piece from the Philippines titled “Nanay Tatay” arranged by Kitibielle Pasagui for our Dade Middle School: DMS STEAM night on Oct 8. Today, Charlin Alicea, mom of one our 8th grade Singing Wolverines, came to share about Filipino culture and to make sure our pronunciation was correct! 😜

She shared about the family culture of respect and what school is like on the other side of the world. And then treated our students to homemade noodles and egg rolls made with her family recipes! Every single student tried each thing and unanimously said “DELICIOUS!” We’re SO grateful for Ms Charlin sharing with us today and can’t wait to perform this piece for our friends and families on October 8!
