JAG New Jersey is proud to celebrate two remarkable leaders making an impact on education across our state! 👏

Dr. Sandra Strothers has been appointed to the Governor’s Chronic Absenteeism Task Force, a 15-member group charged with studying the root causes of chronic student absenteeism, reviewing post-pandemic attendance trends and developing data-driven recommendations.

Donna Custard has been appointed to the Governor’s School Disconnection Prevention Task Force, a 25-member advisory body working to understand the causes of school disconnection, identify effective practices and develop strategies for re-engaging students.

Donna has also been selected to serve on the NJDOE’s New Jersey School Funding Steering Committee, a 50-member statewide group tasked with reviewing and improving New Jersey’s school funding system.

These appointments reflect their continued commitment to educational equity, student engagement and creating stronger opportunities for young people throughout New Jersey. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Strothers and Donna Custard on this well-deserved recognition! 🎉

Today, JAG New Jersey remembers the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honors the bravery of the first responders who answered the call, and recognizes the service members and volunteers who responded with courage and compassion.

Twenty-five years later, may we continue to honor their memory by serving our neighbors, strengthening our communities, and carrying forward the unity that brought our nation together.
