A huge THANK YOU to Gospel Light Church for blessing our CES staff with a delicious breakfast on the first day of school! 💜🐻

Starting such an exciting (and busy!) day with a wonderful meal was the perfect way to show our staff how loved and supported they are. We are so grateful for community partners like Gospel Light Church who continue to pour into our school and our people.

The wait is almost over, and we are SO excited to welcome our Cubs back to school! We hope everyone enjoys the last weekend of summer, gets plenty of rest, and is ready for an AMAZING first day! 🌟📚

⏰ Monday Morning Reminder:
We will begin unloading students from carpool at 7:35 AM.

💜 For Monday only, parents are welcome to walk their students inside to help them get settled for their first day.

🖍️ PreK Families:
You are welcome to walk your little Cub inside on their assigned start day.

Before welcoming our families for Open House, our Comfort Elementary staff was treated to an energizing surprise from Rize Nutrition in Richlands! 🥤✨ It was the perfect boost to get us ready for a busy and exciting evening!

A huge THANK YOU to Rize Nutrition for thinking of our staff as we begin the 2026–2027 school year. We are so grateful for community partners who take the time to support and encourage our educators.

🐻💜 WHAT AN AMAZING OPEN HOUSE! 💜🐻

Our halls were full, our classrooms were buzzing, and our hearts were happy! We loved welcoming our Comfort Cubs and their families back to campus for Open House. Thank you to everyone who came out, met our teachers, visited classrooms, and helped us kick off the year with so much excitement and positive energy!

We are incredibly grateful for the families, staff, and community that make Comfort Elementary such a special place to call home.

The classrooms are ready. The teachers are ready. And we can’t wait to welcome our Cubs back!

Comfort Families,

We are excited to share an after-school childcare opportunity with our Cub families! The YMCA is offering an After School Program at Trenton Elementary School, and CES has access to a bus that can provide transportation for our students to participate.

We know that childcare options can be limited in our area, and we want to make sure our Cubs and families have access to as many opportunities as possible.

If you are interested in the YMCA After School Program, please complete the YMCA registration process. We also ask that you let Mrs. Thompson know once you register so she can work on coordinating transportation from CES to Trenton Elementary.

Please note: CES will provide transportation to Trenton Elementary School only. Parents/guardians will be responsible for picking up their child from Trenton Elementary by 6:00 PM each evening.

🚌 Comfort Elementary Bus Transportation Update 🚌

We want to share an important update regarding our bus routes as we begin the school year.

💜 Mrs. Iris Mills will be taking over Ms. Cathy’s bus route.

💜 Our other route will be taken over by another CES teacher assistant once she has completed the process of obtaining her bus driver’s license.

In the meantime:

* Mr. Jason Jarman will drive the morning route.
* For the afternoon route, we will need to continue with the combined route, just as we did last year.
* Ms. Justus is currently waiting to be cleared by the state to drive. Once she receives clearance, we will be able to transition away from the combined afternoon route.

We are hopeful that this will only be a 2–3 week window, but please understand that the timeline is dependent upon the state clearance process and is outside of the school’s control.

We know that a combined afternoon route can mean longer ride times and later drop-offs for some of our Cubs, and we deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our families. Please know that we are working to make this transition as smooth as possible and will communicate any updates as soon as we receive them.

Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we work through this temporary transportation situation. We appreciate our Comfort families so much! 💜🐻🚌

Good evening Comfort Cubs,

We would like to invite families to join us Thursday, Aug. 20 from 4:00 - 6:00 for Open House. Students and families will be able to meet their teachers, visit the classrooms and see all of the wonderful things we have been working on over the summer for our cubs. Hope to see everyone on Thursday evening.
