This is a perfect example of what happens if you try again! It's uncomfortable when a student hears, "Good start, but start over and try again." It may feel bad but the results are worth the work and the discomfort. She started being incredibly disheartened but after this second one she was excited and wanting to show all of her classmates. Trying is the key to everything! Try something new today!

Today at Davis Elementary School I read this book (because their art teacher is weird too!) to my students and they had to draw what they thought teacher looked like without ever seeing the illustrations using the descriptions in the book. These are the winners from 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade! As a prize I drew a mini portrait of THEM! Such a fun first day! I plan on doing this for my classes at Dade this week too. Let's see what K-2 can come up with!
