Dear AECP Families,

Fall sports are quickly approaching!

To ensure your student-athlete is eligible to participate on the first day of practice, they must have a current sports physical and all required athletic paperwork completed.

This Cleared for Play Weekend is a great opportunity to get everything done before the season begins.

Please note: Students who do not have a completed sports physical and required forms on file will not be permitted to participate in practices or games until all requirements have been met.

We encourage all families to take advantage of this weekend and avoid any delays in your student's participation.

Our Seniors are preparing to launch to college in a few weeks! Can you believe it? Seniors, please ensure the school has your most up-to-date email address to receive invitations and news about AECP HS events.

If you know a senior, please ask them what supports they may need. Some ideas on how to set up a student going to college this Fall are listed below.

Shift to an Advisory Role: Move away from managing their daily choices, helping them build the critical problem-solving skills needed for early adult independence.

Establish Communication Boundaries: Set clear, realistic expectations for weekly check-ins rather than demanding constant daily texts that crowd their new social schedule.

Define Financial Responsibility: Explicitly outline who covers textbooks, everyday groceries, and leisure spending before they step foot on the university campus.

Pack Light and Intentional: Bring only immediate seasonal clothing and an over-the-counter medical kit, ensuring they learn to manage minor illnesses autonomously.

Keep Move-In Day Concise: Make the final goodbye short and encouraging, leaving a hidden handwritten note in their room to process your exit privately.

DORM PACKING LIST:

Bedding & Comfort: Twin XL sheets, mattress topper, pillows, a light blanket, and a heavy comforter for winter.

Health & Personal Care: A shower caddy with flip-flops, towels, a thermometer, and an over-the-counter cold/flu medical kit.

Electronics & Power: A long phone charging cable, a laptop, and a heavy-duty, surge-protected power strip with a long cord.

Organization & Laundry: A mesh laundry hamper, slim clothes hangers, a heavy-duty mechanical doorstop, and under-bed plastic storage bins.

School Supplies & Snack Prep: A sturdy backpack, a reusable water bottle, a microwave-safe bowl, and basic eating utensils

🎓 One month later, and we’re still smiling about graduation day.

The caps were tossed, the diplomas were earned, and the first graduating class in Achievers history stepped boldly into their future. Wherever life takes you next, carry with you the grit, determination, and excellence that brought you here.
