Atlantic County Institute of Technology recently completed construction on an expansion project that received the largest investment from the state through the Securing Our Children's Future Bond Act.

The brand-new building will add seats for even more students to prepare for careers in aviation maintenance, culinary science, dental assisting, exercise science, welding and more. New Jersey vo-tech schools expand AI career pathways (NJBIZ) - Career Tech NJ 05/11/2026

In honor of National Technology Day, we’re highlighting how New Jersey county vocational-technical schools are preparing students for careers in artificial intelligence, robotics, and other emerging technologies.

At Mercer County Technical Schools, students are exploring AI and robotics through a new three-course pathway developed in partnership with The College of New Jersey. Middlesex County Magnet Schools are expanding AI-focused career pathways that connect classroom learning with high-demand workforce skills. Burlington County Institute of Technology has a districtwide AI Task Force to help shape the future of AI education across its programs.

Today, we celebrate the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers who are learning today to lead tomorrow.

Thank you to our State Board of Education for taking time to learn more about the specialized programs that engage and educate students at both Cape May County Technical School District and Cape May County Special Services School District.

We especially appreciate the time spent by President Kathy Goldenberg, Vice President Nedd Johnson, Board Member Claudine Keenan, and student representatives Max Beal and Chloe Dobbins. They toured spaces for hands-on career learning and discussed the value of career and technical education with Cape Tech students to further understand why 35,000 New Jersey students find significant value in attending a NJ county vocational-technical school.
