Career Tech NJ The Council represents NJ's 21 county vocational-technical schools that offer career programs in high-demand fields for 35,000 career-minded students.

Visit: https://careertechnj.org/ The New Jersey Council of County Vocational-Technical Schools (NJCCVTS) is a non-profit association created by state law to represent the vocational-technical school districts in New Jersey’s 21 counties. The Council supports collaboration among its member school districts, which offer career programs in high-demand fields for 35,000 career-minded high school students as well as adults. The Council is widely recognized as a leading voice for career and technical education before state and federal policy-makers, the business community, and other education leaders. The Council promotes career and technical education and seeks to expand opportunities for all New Jersey students who choose to pursue career-focused education. Council membership includes the 21 county vocational-technical school districts, represented by their superintendents. Members elect officers and an executive committee for two-year terms to govern the Council. NJCCVTS has no role in the operations of the individual school districts. Each district is governed and operated independently by a Board of Education appointed by its County Board of Commissioners. As the primary statewide connector for these districts, NJCCVTS provides important coordination, promotes best practices, and organizes professional development opportunities for leaders of vocational-technical schools.

A first for New Jersey! 🌊
Beginning in fall 2027, Cape May County Technical School District will become home to New Jersey's first Coast Guard Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (CGJROTC) program and one of only 20 programs of its kind nationwide.

The four-year program will give Cape Tech students opportunities to explore careers in the U.S. Coast Guard and maritime industries while developing leadership, citizenship and career-ready skills that will serve them on any path after graduation.

This is another example of how New Jersey's county vocational-technical schools continue to expand opportunities and connect students to unique career pathways.

Bright futures taking flight! 🚁
Students at Atlantic County Institute of Technology are putting their drone skills to work across New Jersey, gaining real-world experience as licensed drone pilots and seeing firsthand how the technology can be applied across industries.

The latest NJBIZ column highlights how ACIT students are prepared to enhance efficiency or solve a problem by applying drone technology in the real world. From assessing a site for security personnel to monitoring crop growth for farmers, uses for drones are endless. ACIT students are trained and ready to fly in to put drones to work!

The campus of Salem Tech held a special 9/11 Remembrance ceremony this morning which honored the memory of the victims and paid tribute to the valor of the hundreds of first responders who put their own lives at risk. A special thanks goes out to our Air Force Jr. ROTC unit as well as our Law Enforcement & Public Safety program for putting together this poignant ceremony. We also greatly appreciate the Fire Departments of Pennsville and Woodstown for their participation in this special event.

In Salem County, we will never forget.

We’re not just looking ahead to the next school year, we are looking well into the future to inform what we are teaching students now. 🤖

Across our county vocational-technical schools, students are gaining hands-on experience with emerging technologies, including AI, robotics and automation, while developing the technical and problem-solving skills today's industries demand.

As technology evolves, so does CTE, preparing students not just for the careers of today, but for what's next.
