Students at Monmouth County Vocational School District's Academy of Law and Public Safety- MCVSD are adding emergency dispatch skills to their portfolios thanks to a course offered in partnership with the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office.
The ALPS students are not only expanding their options for a career in public safety, but they are training to fulfill a community need by playing an important role in an emergency response.

In honor of National Technology Day, we’re highlighting how New Jersey county vocational-technical schools are preparing students for careers in artificial intelligence, robotics, and other emerging technologies.
At Mercer County Technical Schools, students are exploring AI and robotics through a new three-course pathway developed in partnership with The College of New Jersey. Middlesex County Magnet Schools are expanding AI-focused career pathways that connect classroom learning with high-demand workforce skills. Burlington County Institute of Technology has a districtwide AI Task Force to help shape the future of AI education across its programs.

Thank you to our State Board of Education for taking time to learn more about the specialized programs that engage and educate students at both Cape May County Technical School District and Cape May County Special Services School District.
We especially appreciate the time spent by President Kathy Goldenberg, Vice President Nedd Johnson, Board Member Claudine Keenan, and student representatives Max Beal and Chloe Dobbins. They toured spaces for hands-on career learning and discussed the value of career and technical education with Cape Tech students to further understand why 35,000 New Jersey students find significant value in attending a NJ county vocational-technical school.
