Madison County FCE members represented the county well yesterday at the Western Region FCE Mini-Conference in Jackson. Our paid delegation of 16 people dwindled down to only 10 due to illnesses and other life circumstances- but there were definitely things to celebrate! 😊

Vicki King, Carlene Tenpenny, Linda Galvan, Michele Gachet, and Theri Hilp were all BIG winners with their cultural arts entries. Susan Baughman was a BIG winner in fashion revue, placing 1st in one of her categories. Seeing Carlene do some top-tier modeling in the fashion revue was a great thing also! 😉

We can't wait to see how our county's entries will fare at the state level in November.

Madison County was honored to host the summer meeting of the Northwest TN FCE cluster today! We welcomed members from Gibson, Obion, and Weakley counties for “FCE: As American as Apple Pie!” 🇺🇸 🥧 We celebrated by playing patriotic games; doing a group sing along of “America the Beautiful”; reviewing some American history; discovering ways that we use AI in our American lives; and learning about habits to help Americans sleep better.

Attendees were able to view our county’s winning cultural arts entries and enjoy a tasty lunch from Cyn'ple Sweets & More LLC. To all of our members who played a role – whether you set up, decorated, helped with morning refreshments, cleaned up after the event, or just attended–YOU ARE APPRECIATED!

We send our deepest condolences to Elizabeth Priddy, a member of the Starlights FCE Club, on the loss of her husband Danny.

On June 19, a casual reception in Danny's memory will be held at Northbrooke Post Acute Center (121 Physicians Drive in Jackson) for anyone who would like to stop by from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. At 7:30, Pastor Frank Senter (who is Elizabeth's brother) will offer a few words of comfort. Please keep this family close in thought this week.

On this , I want to pause & honor one of the busiest groups on Earth (or at least in Madison County)- our FCE members!

This happens to be , and our local club members work hard. FCE members STATEWIDE work hard! Family and Community Education (FCE) Club
volunteers contributed 293,900 hours last year, worth
$8,978,645, by providing education and
community service to individuals, families, and
communities. Extension Family and Consumer
Sciences volunteers also provide education in the
areas of family, food, health, home, and money.
Volunteer support helps to make significant impacts on
Tennessee communities.
