On this , I want to pause & honor one of the busiest groups on Earth (or at least in Madison County)- our FCE members!

This happens to be , and our local club members work hard. FCE members STATEWIDE work hard! Family and Community Education (FCE) Club
volunteers contributed 293,900 hours last year, worth
$8,978,645, by providing education and
community service to individuals, families, and
communities. Extension Family and Consumer
Sciences volunteers also provide education in the
areas of family, food, health, home, and money.
Volunteer support helps to make significant impacts on
Tennessee communities.

Every year the talented ladies of FCE spend months crafting, baking, and creating thousands of handmade items for the Christmas Cottage sale before Thanksgiving.

Make your way to the Ag Complex Auditorium next Saturday (3/28) for the FCE Spring Market! It’s free to enter and shop. 🛍️ There will be Christmas items included in the sale. 🎅🏼🎄Come on out!

The Northwest Tennessee FCE cluster held its spring meeting on Friday, March 13. Agent Deanna Poole and Gibson County FCE hosted members of Madison County and Obion County FCE clubs. Attendees reported a wonderful day of fellowship and education.

Madison County will host the summer meeting in Jackson on Friday, June 26.

A Little Christmas Cottage Magic… in the Spring 🌷

For many of you, the Madison County FCE Christmas Cottage has become a favorite holiday tradition.

Every year the talented ladies of FCE spend months crafting, baking, and creating thousands of handmade items for the Christmas Cottage sale before Thanksgiving.

But this year… you do not have to wait until November.

Just in time for Easter and spring decorating, many of those same bakers and crafters are coming together for a special event:

The Spring Market & Christmas Corner

This one day market will feature many of the same kinds of items people love at the Christmas Cottage including:

• Homemade baked goods
• Handcrafted items
• Beautiful florals and spring decor
• Canned goods and homemade treats
• Unique handmade gifts

Everything at the market is handcrafted or homemade, which makes it the perfect place to pick up something special for Easter, spring decorating, or a thoughtful gift.

If you have ever enjoyed the Christmas Cottage, this is a wonderful opportunity to support the same talented women while enjoying a spring shopping event.

On Tuesday (3/3), the Raggedy Anns FCE club held their March meeting with standing room only! The group conducted regular business and discussed current projects. Tennille presented the program and received a surprise presentation from the club: a “get well” basket ahead of her upcoming surgery. Tennille also made a presentation to Michele Gachet, who was recognized for volunteer hours at the recent county council meeting, but was absent. 

The meeting concluded with a very spirited “bottle auction”. Proceeds will help fund future club initiatives.
