The Village Charter School has proposed a strategic redesign of its 2026-2027 master schedule to optimize student learning and operational efficiency. By staggering lunch periods and eliminating transition waste, the school intends to increase instructional minutes while moving to an earlier daily dismissal. The new framework prioritizes protected literacy blocks, integrated intervention time, and uninterrupted core subjects for all grade levels. Additionally, the plan includes a daily social-emotional learning period, for which the board is evaluating three research-backed curricula: CharacterStrong, MindUP, and Second Step. This evidence-aligned approach ensures equitable instruction across the elementary and middle school divisions while supporting academic and behavioral growth.
