Nice and loud now for your FA Collegiate Varsity Girls Volleyball Knights!

Yesterday marked an absolutely historic and monumental moment for Foundation Academies as our FA Collegiate Varsity Girls Volleyball Knights took the court for the first-ever game inside our brand-new gymnasium on the FA Collegiate Campus.

And our Knights made sure the first one was unforgettable—with a WIN! ⚔️🔥

Led by Coach Whitaker, our Girls Varsity Volleyball squad is bringing determination, energy, and Knights Pride to the court this season.

For the historic first game in our new gym, the stands were packed with the FA community—scholars, alumni, families, teachers, staff, and community members all came together to celebrate a moment years in the making, with FA Collegiate Principal Mr. Adams courtside cheering on our Scholar-Athletes as they officially opened a new home for FA Athletics.

Led by Senior Director of Athletics & Scholar Engagement John Paxton Jr., FA Athletics creates opportunities for scholars to compete while developing leadership, resilience, discipline, teamwork, and a deep sense of belonging—experiences that help shape who they become far beyond the court.

Yesterday was bigger than one game. It was the first chapter of a new era for FA Athletics and the beginning of countless memories that will be made inside this gymnasium for generations of Knights to come.

And what better way to open it than with a W! 🏐🔥

We are proud to celebrate the Foundation Academy Collegiate Black Student Union scholars whose groundbreaking Men Without Shoes project is now featured in the gallery exhibition Liberty and Its Shadows at the New Hope Arts Center in New Hope, PA. 💙💛

Over the course of a year, scholars conducted original archival research to uncover the untold stories of 14 Black Revolutionary War soldiers who fought in the Battles of Trenton and Princeton.

Our scholars transformed that research into a powerful multimedia experience, producing AI-generated monologues, creating a behind-the-scenes documentary, and collaborating with Philadelphia visual artist Shaheed Rucker to create JET magazine-inspired portraits imagining what these soldiers may have looked like.

After debuting in February at the Morven Museum & Garden in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Black History Month, Men Without Shoes continues its journey, traveling throughout the region and bringing these stories to new audiences as our nation commemorates the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.

There is no American history without Black history. Through Men Without Shoes, our scholars are helping ensure these soldiers and their stories have their rightful place in American history.

Thank you to the New Hope Arts Center for your hospitality and for including our scholars' work in this incredible exhibition.

Liberty and Its Shadows remains on view and open to the public at the New Hope Arts Center through October 4, 2026. 💙💛

Join us THIS Thursday, September 10 at 6 PM for a special screening of the documentary Men Without Shoes, followed by a presentation from the young scholars of the Foundation Academies Black Student Union.

Through extensive research, these students uncovered the stories of fourteen Black Revolutionary War soldiers connected to the battles of Trenton and Princeton - men whose service and sacrifice have largely been absent from the history most of us were taught.

Their research became Men Without Shoes, a project combining history, storytelling, film, and portraits created in collaboration with Philadelphia artist Shaheed Rucker. The project is currently featured at New Hope Arts as part of Liberty and Its Shadows: Reflecting on America at 250.

Thursday evening is an opportunity to see the documentary and, more importantly, hear from the scholars themselves about their research, what they discovered, and why telling these stories matters.

A first day we’ll never forget. 💙💛

Yesterday, Foundation Academy Collegiate scholars walked through the doors of our brand-new, state-of-the-art high school campus and into an exciting new chapter in Foundation Academies history.

This campus was built for them—for their learning, their dreams, their opportunities, and their futures. And seeing our scholars fill its classrooms for the very first time made that vision real.

A new campus. A new school year. A historic moment for FA.

FA Middle is back! 💙💛

Yesterday was an amazing start to a new chapter at Foundation Academies!

It was so good to see our scholars back together, filling the building with energy, reconnecting with friends and teachers, and getting ready for another great year.

For the first time, our Arch Street campus is officially home to our dedicated Foundation Academy Middle School, and our three-campus model is fully operational!

Here’s to big goals, new experiences, making memories together, and continuing on our Path to Proficiency.

Let’s have an amazing year, FA Middle! 💙💛
