Good Morning Dunn Families,
We are excited to welcome our students back for another outstanding school year! Student Orientation is an important opportunity for students to prepare for a successful start to the year.
During orientation, all 7th and 8th grade students will:
Pick up their school-issued iPad, which will be used daily for classroom instruction.
Log into PowerSchool to view their class schedule.
Receive important information to help them begin the school year ready to learn.
To help us provide efficient service and avoid long wait times for more than 700 students, we ask that families attend according to the following schedule:
Wednesday, August 19 | 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Students with last names A–J
Thursday, August 20 | 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Students with last names K–R
Friday, August 21 | 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Students with last names S–Z
If your family's schedule does not allow you to attend on your assigned day, you are welcome to visit Dunn any day between August 18 and August 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please understand that students attending outside of their assigned day may experience a longer wait as we work to distribute materials in an organized manner.
Extravaganza on Friday, August 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We encourage you to stop by to connect with district programs, community partners, and resources that support student success.
Cell Phone Expectations
As we prepare for the new school year, we would like to remind all families that Trenton Public Schools is a phone-free district. In accordance with New Jersey law and district policy:
Cell phones may not be powered on or visible during the school day.
Under no circumstances will students be permitted to use cell phones during instructional hours.
Students who bring a phone to school must secure it in a Yondr pouch, which will be provided by the school.
These expectations help us maintain a focused learning environment where students are fully engaged in instruction and connected with their teachers and classmates.
We look forward to seeing you during orientation and beginning another great year at Dunn Middle School. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to ensure every student has a successful school year.
Together, We Get It Dunn!

This time of year is always bittersweet. Wishing my 8th graders nothing but greatness as they venture in and lean into the great adult the want to become. Time to prepare for the next group of bookie boos

Love when our student leaders exercise their voice. This year they decided they wanted to hold elections for 8th Grade Social King and Queen. The students organized, facilitated and Got It Dunn! Congrats to the winners 🏆 🤴🏾 👸🏽
Friends and neighbors. Dunn is NOT currently running a fundraiser for cheer uniforms or track uniforms. We have these items. But also, we would never encourage our students to go door to door selling anything in the age we live in.
