THINGS TO KNOW FOR THE MIDDLE SCHOOL:
Schedules: Student schedules and homeroom teacher information will be available Friday, August 7th! Please log-in to your Teacher Ease account after 4:00pm. Class lists will not be posted on the door at the Middle School.
Open House will be Thursday, August 13th from 5:00 - 7:00pm.
The time slots are listed below. If you are unable to attend during your scheduled time, that is fine! Choose another time that works best for you.
A-G 5:00-5:30
H-N 5:30-6:00
O-T 6:00-6:30
U-Z 6:30-7:00
You may bring your school supplies to put away in your classroom/locker.
Lockers and Backpacks: Students will not be allowed to bring backpacks with them to class this year. Backpacks will go in their lockers at the beginning of each day. It is highly recommended that students use a lock on their locker to protect their belongings. Locks will be available for purchase during open house for $6. Students may bring their own lock from home if they already have one.
Dates:
- Thursday, August 13th - no school
- Friday, August 14th - 1/2 day student attendance. WMS dismisses at 11:45. Breakfast will be served on this day. Lunch will not be served.
- Monday, August 17th - full day of school
Parent Drop-off in the Morning (North Parking Lot):
- Drop off in the mornings: Use the two lanes to drop off your child. Doors won't open up until 7:30.
- Do not drop students off at the main entrance, this causes extra traffic for the buses.
Parent Pick-up in the Afternoon (North Parking Lot):
- Pick up after school: Parking spots are for people picking up a 6th-8th grade student. If you are picking up a 4th/5th grader AND a 6th-8th grader, you will still park. Please pull forward so another car can pull behind you.
- The lanes are for 4th and 5th grade students only. There are two lanes - the one closest to the school is for people going to New Baden and the other lane is for people going to Trenton.
Buses:
- Any student riding a bus will use the front entrance to enter/exit the building
- Friday, August 14th (11:45 dismissal): Please be prepared for buses to be a little later in the afternoon as we work through first day dismissal
Chromebooks:
- 4th and 5th grade students will not bring Chromebooks home.
- 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will bring Chromebooks home each night. Chromebooks must be charged every night and ready to use the next day.
Breakfast/Lunch:
- Students will need to input their student ID number into the pinpad system as they go through the line for Breakfast and Lunch
Teacher Ease App:
- There is an app that can be downloaded for TeacherEase
- The app to choose is blue with an apple (do not select the black one)
- You can use the app to set up notifications for messages, attendance, grades, and announcements
Daily Announcements:
- Daily announcements can be found on the Wesclin website. Please look at these for up-to-date information
