10 of my piano students performed in PianoFest! They played the grand piano in Annett recital Hall, and participated in discussion about each other's music. And everyone got a medal! It was a FUN event!

We had a great time again this year forming a Christmas choir to sing last Sunday in the Christmas service at Legacy Church in Onalaska. They sounded great! Thank you to everyone who put forth their time and talent.

I was honored to be asked to sing our National Anthem to open the Maple Leaf Run on September 27th. Had a good 5K run shortly after!

Summer is a good time to start piano or voice lessons! Take advantage of a special for the summer months for NEW students: The 2nd student in the family will get lessons at 20% off for the summer!
The summer session runs from June 9 - August 14, and as always, the monthly fee is waived. Charges are per lesson.

The Legacy Church Christmas choir sounded wonderful for our Christmas service! I always enjoy directing a choir!

We had a GREAT Fall Recital at Ca****la Performing Arts Center. A beautiful setting! For several of my students, this was their first recital opportunity, and they all did a wonderful job!

Teaching for the Y music program has been so rewarding, many great students!

What better way to celebrate World Pianist Day than by kicking off our Instructor Spotlight series?

We have so many familiar faces at the Y and we thought it would be fun to get to know our staff a little better.

Today we're getting to know a bit about one of our Music Instructors, Marilyn Lee.

Marilyn is originally from Lafayette and Ga***rd, Minnesota. She is a current piano and voice instructor and has worked with the Y for around 12 years.

Marilyn's favorite color is purple, and she loves Easter. When asked for her favorite subject in school, she answered, "Choir, of course!"

When she is not teaching lessons, she likes music arranging, biking, gardening, cooking and baking (or being up in the wellness center or in the swimming pool)

We had a great time at PianoFest 2024. I had 9 students participating. They each played a piece on the grand piano in Annett Recital Hall at UW-L. 2 of the students also displayed posters they had made.
This is always a fun event.
