A few weeks into the school year, sometimes families realize they’re still looking for the right fit. At The Greenspire School, the year is underway and there’s still an opportunity to join us. We currently have limited openings in grades 6–12 for the 2026–27 school year. If you’re curious about Greenspire’s small-school environment, hands-on learning, and unique approach to education, we’d love to show you around. Our students join us from multiple counties and communities across Northwest Michigan - Leelanau, Grand Traverse, Benzie, Kalkaska, and Antrim. 🌱💚

We can't wait to see this Old Town Playhouse : Young Company production of "Seussified Christmas Carol" with some of our very own students and alumni representing in both cast and crew. 🌱💚

Congratulations to the cast of A Seussified Christmas Carol! We can't wait to see you bring the wonderfully wacky twist on the classic tale to life on our stage.

We are excited to kick off the school year with a special middle school extended day trip to the Leelanau Outdoor Center (LOC) on Tuesday, September 22, from 8:30 AM-6:30 PM!

This day is all about bringing our Greenspire Middle School community together. Students will spend the day building connections, challenging themselves, and working together through activities such as zip lining, a Pyramid Point hike, aerospace engineering, and other team-building experiences.

We love having this opportunity early in the school year for students across all grade levels to connect outside of the classroom, strengthen friendships, and continue building a strong Greenspire community.

As a reminder, paperwork and payment should be returned to the front office no later than Friday, September 18th. 🌱💚

Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 16, is our first Pizza Wednesday of the school year! Pizza will be available for $2 per slice. We’re excited to kick off this Greenspire tradition and enjoy our first Pizza Wednesday together! 🍕🌱💚

We did it! Our first week of school is complete! It has been wonderful to welcome our students back and watch our Greenspire community come together.

Throughout the week, we saw so many moments of kindness, collaboration, and connection. Students helped one another find their way, welcomed new classmates into conversations and activities, worked together during team-building challenges, and showed patience as we all learned new routines. We also loved seeing students connect across grade levels, laugh together, encourage one another, and begin building relationships that will grow throughout the year.

An extra special thank you to the many students and families who generously donated items to our school! Your thoughtfulness and generosity help make our school a welcoming and supportive place for everyone. We truly appreciate the many ways our families step up to support our students, staff, and Greenspire community.

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for helping make our first week such a positive start. We are excited for all that is ahead this year and grateful to have such a wonderful community to share it with! 💚🌱

"What happens when 1984 meets A Good Girl's Guide to Murder—700 years in the future? Find out in Monitored, a darkly comedic interactive novel created entirely by the talented teen writers of the Traverse Area District Library's (TADL) Twisted Quills Teen Writing Group.

After two years of collaboration, creativity, and dedication, these young authors are celebrating the release of their debut novel with a free public book launch!

Community members are invited to:

Meet the student writers and artists behind *Monitored*
Hear a live reading from the novel
Purchase a copy of the book
Have books signed by the creators
Attend a Q&A author panel with the teen authors
Set in a futuristic Traverse City 700 years from now, *Monitored* blends mystery, comedy, and speculative fiction into an immersive, interactive reading experience in which readers help shape the story. This project represents more than just a novel—it is the culmination of two years of imagination, teamwork, and perseverance by local teens

The book launch is free and open to the public. Readers of young adult fiction, educators, families, and supporters of local arts are encouraged to attend and celebrate the accomplishments of these remarkable young creators.

TADL’s Twisted Quills Teen Writing Group, hosted at the Woodmere library, provides young writers with opportunities to develop their craft, collaborate with peers, and bring ambitious creative projects to life. The student authors represent schools from across the region, including Greenspire High School & Middle School, TC West Senior High, West Middle School, Grand Traverse Academy, East Middle School, TC Central High School, and the local homeschool community."
