This summer, family Thursdays at GTA Children's Garden look to be fun and might be of interest to our nature loving community at Greenspire High School and Greenspire Middle School. 🌱💚

FREE FAMILY THURSDAY season is around the corner!! We are excited to see 🪱 Carter's Compost , 🦅Skegemog Raptor Center, and 🪲 G.T. Butterfly House & Bug Zoo again this year. We also can't wait to kick it off and have fun with a bubble themed dance party and DJ LMNOP. 🫧🎶

We hope to see you there at these all ages, free family events! If you can only make one of them, come to the Harvest Party on August 13th to help us celebrate our gardeners hard work! We will have this big party from 5 to 7pm.

🧺 Happy International Picnic Day!

At Greenspire, we were surprised to learn there's a special day for picnics—we thought eating outside was just called "lunch." From sunny days under the trees to impromptu gatherings on the grass, our students celebrate the joys of outdoor dining almost every day. Today, the rest of the world is catching up!🌱💚

We are incredibly proud of our middle school students who were recently featured by 9&10 News for their work customizing ride-on Jeeps for children with disabilities. Through this meaningful project, students combined creativity, problem-solving, engineering, and compassion to create adaptive vehicles that help provide greater mobility and independence for young children. This project is a wonderful example of Greenspire's commitment to project-based learning and using our skills to make a positive impact in the community. Congratulations to our students and our amazing teacher, Kris, for bringing learning to life in such a meaningful way!🌱💚

A huge thank you to our neighbors, The Village at Grand Traverse Commons, for helping make our 8th graders' end-of-middle-school celebration so memorable!

For the past three years, our 8th grade students have walked past the buildings from the old state hospital, wondering about the history of this landmark. Last week, thanks to the generosity of our neighbors and community partners, they were invited inside for a fascinating tour of one of the former state hospital buildings—and even got the chance to explore the tunnels beneath it.

The experience offered a unique glimpse into the history of our community and sparked plenty of curiosity, questions, and excitement. We are grateful to The Village at Grand Traverse Commons for opening their doors, sharing their knowledge, and helping create a special send-off for our now 8th grade graduates.

Thank you to everyone who helped prepare this nourishing and delicious meal for our staff. This special gathering brought us together in fellowship, giving us the opportunity to nourish our bodies while connecting our hearts as we reflected on the joys and rewards of the school year.

We are deeply grateful for the time, care, and generosity that made this precious moment possible. It was exactly what our staff needed—a chance to pause, share a meal, and celebrate our community together.
