I'm so thankful to our Madrigal Singers for giving a few hours of their time this past Saturday to share in song and conversation with some senior citizens in our community at Bay Ridge Assisted Living and Independence Village Assisted Living. One of the most special moments was visiting with former West Choir Teacher, Tom Stokes, who spoke eloquently about how impressed he was with our singers! Here is the email I received from the Peter R. Marsh Foundation in coordination with the $1,500 grant they gave us.

Your dedication has cultivated empathy, compassion, and a profound sense of community. By arranging these youthful musical and conversational gifts, you have undoubtedly made a lasting positive impact on your students and enriched the lives of seniors in your community. Please share with your students that we all appreciate their stellar participation and hope that they gained valuable life experience from the program.
I encourage you to share your successes and favorite experiences with peers across the nation and invite them to join this meaningful program. The Foundation also offers annual initiatives for high schools, including the Silent Servant Scholarship Award and the High School Pathways Club. Details about these national programs can be found on the Foundation’s website. Please bring these additional opportunities to the attention of the high school administration in your district. All the programs have experienced significant growth over the past few years, and the Foundation looks forward to even greater expansion in the future.
