Primary Summer Highlights
One of the richest areas of exploration this summer has been our work in the gardens. The children have been eagerly observing the plants around campus and learning to notice the incredible details of the natural world. Together, we have been studying the parts of a flower—roots, stem, leaves, petals, and pollen—and discussing the important role each part plays in helping a plant grow and thrive. We have explored how flowers begin as tiny seeds, develop roots beneath the soil, sprout upward toward the sunlight, and gradually move through each stage of their growing cycle. These conversations have sparked so much wonder as the children begin to understand the beautiful interconnectedness of soil, sun, water, pollinators, and growth. Through hands-on observation, harvesting flowers, and caring for living plants, they are developing both scientific awareness and a deepened sense of reverence for the natural world.
Food preparation is also in full swing! Our young chefs have been busy making daily smoothies, personal pizzas, sun butter and jelly sandwiches, and of course, enjoying timeless tea parties with friends. These practical life experiences continue to build independence, coordination, confidence, and joy.
A friendly reminder that campus will be closed tomorrow, Friday, July 3, as well as all of next week. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on July 13.
