🎉 August Employee of the Month: Jake Cerny

Jake calls estimating and business development home — but "not my job" isn't in his vocabulary. This summer, at our busiest, he traded the spreadsheets for the shop floor and put in the hours right where they were needed most.

That's the ownership mindset that makes an employee-owned company work. When the team needs a hand, Jake shows up — wherever "up" happens to be.

Wrapped up another one 🔨

The team just completed a terrific remodel for Clark Contracting Services' Lansing office, and the space turned out great. Clean, functional, and built to last — from the restrooms to the break room to the wall celebrating their company history.

Projects like this are why we love what we do. When the crew building it are also owners of the company, it shows in the details.

Big thanks to the Clark team for trusting us with your space, and to our crew for the craftsmanship. Onto the next one.

🏆 Employee of the Month: Phil Simpson

This June, we're proud to recognize Phil Simpson, Senior Estimator and leader on our Business Development team, as Employee of the Month!

Phil has had an outstanding run recently, leading the charge on winning several major projects through sharp, disciplined management of the bidding process. His attention to detail and strategic approach have made a real difference in landing work that will shape our pipeline for months to come.

On top of that, Phil has been driving process improvement initiatives within our estimating function — finding smarter, more efficient ways for the team to work and setting a higher standard for how we approach every bid.

A little mid-summer appreciation post. 🍦 Our shop floor team doesn't get to sit in air conditioning — they show up, they grind, and they build through whatever the summer throws at them. Today we said thanks the only way that makes sense on a 90-degree afternoon: ice cream truck in the parking lot. Couldn't be prouder of this crew.

Two guys standing in the middle of organized chaos.

That's Jon Dreher and Mike Roskoski — our COO and Production Manager — doing what they do every day: keeping the machine running.

Behind them? Dozens of active jobs in motion. Cabinet parts, doors and drawers, casework carcasses, and millwork pieces staged across the floor in every direction. Every cart, every stack, every square foot of that shop is spoken for.

What you don't see in this photo is the puzzle they're constantly solving — balancing incoming work against real shop capacity, making sure the floor isn't overloaded one week and starving the next.

That balance isn't just an internal ops problem. It's the direct link between what happens on this floor and the promise we make to every GC and owner we work with: on time, in full.

No shortcuts. No overpromising. Just an honest look at what the shop can carry — and building the schedule around that reality.

It's not glamorous work. But it's the backbone of every commitment we make.

Grateful to have these two holding it down. 💪

🏆 May employee of the Month — Tony Mariani!

Tony wears a lot of hats around here — and he wears them all well. As a warehouse associate and delivery driver, Tony keeps our operations moving day in and day out. But lately he's gone above and beyond by jumping in to help on install projects in the field, bringing that same reliability and work ethic wherever he's needed.

Tony is exactly the kind of team member who makes Strata Design run the way it does — dependable, versatile, and always ready to step up. We're grateful to have him on the crew!
