Helping School at Home

Not only is this a good reminder for what kids need to hear, but I think most adults would like to hear these things, too. (I've only previewed the graphic-not the content of the link or the comments!)

We are nearing the end of the second week of school. Is your child already struggling in math or reading? Do you need someone to help with homework a couple times a week? I can help with that!

I love what I do! Today I worked with a homeschool family making some big changes in how they homeschool. I listened to the parents and the kids and helped everyone come to an agreement on a new course of study. Right after that session, I got to help one of my clients edit his creative writing paper. His creativity blew me away! Every day is different, but every day I get to help a student or a family. I love what I do!

Starting next week, I have available time slots on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings for helping families set up their homeschools for the fall or tutoring individual students in subjects that they need a little more practice. I’m hoping you are all doing well wherever you may be. Here in Michigan our Covid numbers are climbing again and schools are reverting back to virtual. Happy Spring! The weather is warming up, the ice and snow are gone, and the flowers are starting to bloom! Many of us are counting down the days until spring break (including teachers😁)! Whether you are traveling or staying closer to home, I encourage you to take a break from screens especially if you and your kids have been working/schooling virtually. Play games, go for a walk or bike ride, print out a hiking scavenger hunt from Pinterest, fly a kite, blow bubbles, hula hoop, or just lie down on a blanket on the grass and watch the clouds float by. Relax, recharge. We are in the final stretch of whatever school has looked like for you this year. We’ve got this!!👍🏻

We are half-way done with this week Mamas and Papas! Are you celebrating Valentine's Day this weekend? Take time to have fun and use your creative brain with your kids. Get crafty and make a card for an elderly neighbor or if the weather allows it, have a hearts scavenger hunt outside for some of the neighborhood kids. You can make cut-out hearts or throw some stickers on an index card and hide them for the kids to find. Keep It simple and easy-the fun part for kids is that it is out of the normal routine!
