Veterans were my favorite students at NMC, because they had served in our armed services prior to college and came in with worldwide perspectives and understandings of the responsibility to civil society that younger students simply did not have. One of my English Composition students carried a copy of the U.S. Constitution everywhere he went. Veterans going to college on the GI Bill earned my respect and taught me more than I taught them. 🦉

One of my favorite colleges, Keene State in New Hampshire, a hidden jewel, small enough that undergraduates get real opportunities to build lasting bonds with faculty and gain valuable hands-on skills that change their lives. It’s a great value as well. This one is on my recommended list for those seeking a solid education rather than big stadiums and huge debt. Remember learning is a lifelong process. Match wisely.
