Each year, over 2500 students throughout Michigan try out to be part of the All-State Band, All-State Orchestra, or All-State Jazz Band - groups where the best students in the Michigan are selected to perform together. Students participated in a rigorous 'blind' auditions back in October.

We are extremely proud to announce that for the 2nd year in a row, Cash Stawicki, senior trombone player, was accepted into the High School All-State Band:

Cash will be joining 100 of the other All-State Band students in January for rehearsals and a performance at the Michigan Music Conference. Congratulations!!!

Attention Families of Light Parade Students:

Highlights:
We will be meeting at F&M Park at 5pm to start decorating the truck, trailer, instruments, and band students. The parade starts at 6:30pm on East front Street and will end by 7:15pm just past Union Street. The band will be playing 1 or 2 holiday songs throughout the parade, while the drumline will play cadences in between the songs.

Here's what we will need from band parents:
We need to come up with at least 2,000 lights for our truck and trailer. Battery powered lights could work, unless any parent(s) would like to take up the task of putting lights together with a generator.
Each student and their instrument must be decorated with at least 200 lights - we will try to have each student provide those lights...but may need some lights donated.

Band Expo is Monday, October 6th. The event Runs 4pm-9pm at Thirlby Field. Our band will take the field at 7:45 PM but we will need parent helpers from the very start. Please see the volunteer sign up if you are able and willing to help. It is a great night with a lot of talented kids, you won't want to miss it.
