We are back and we have rebranded!

From Twerk n Werk to Caribé Dance Explosion!

It is very unfortunate that the word “twerk” has such a negative stigma to it and unfortunately, this motivated the change of name because I believe many people assumed classes were strictly about “being vulgar”.

Twerking has been a popular dance style for decades, but it still faces unnecessary criticisms and judgments. Some people associate it with being vulgar, disrespectful, or inappropriate, especially when women or girls do it. However, twerking is a cultural expression that originated from African and Caribbean dances, and it can also be an empowering and liberating form of self-expression.

Twerking can celebrate body positivity, confidence, and creativity, and many dancers use it as a way to challenge social norms and stereotypes. Instead of shaming or stigmatizing twerking, we should appreciate and respect its roots and meanings, and strive to create a more inclusive and diverse society where different forms of art and culture can thrive. Let's twerk for positivity and unity! 🍑💃

Our classes are not just about shaking the b***y, it’s also about learning many other dance genres such as, but not limited to - African folk, modern/contemporary, hip hop, dancehall, femme and more.

If you are looking for an ALL INCLUSIVE dance class to expand your skill or maybe you just want to have fun, you’ve found it!
