Club Rush week is in full swing. I was out and about during lunch today...the energy was OUT OF SIGHT! The picture of Club Rush shown below does not do it justice.

It is going to be a GREAT YEAR Bulldogs!

Good afternoon Bulldog families,

THS, in partnership with TUSD, is working to increase staff and student safety by securing all access points to our campus. We are nearing completion of the latest effort in this program. Drive-in security gates have been installed in the D-loop (entrance from 11th near tire shop) and Ag areas (Franklin gate)

I am reaching out to update you on rapidly developing changes in the status and use of these security gates. These changes will begin Thursday August 13th.

11th Street entrance (D-loop)

These security gates will be open for arrival/drop-off and dismissal/pick-up. There are currently two security gates in that area. The East gate (near tire shop) and the West gate (near EB Theater). The East gate will be limited to entering traffic while the West gate will be reserved for exiting traffic. It is possible to exit via both gates but, due to traffic flow considerations, we are asking that only the West gate be used as an exit during busy times like arrival and dismissal.

11th Street entrance schedule:

East Gate – open until 9:00 am. Closed from 9:00 am until 15 minutes before dismissal. (2:07 pm on Mondays, 3:28 on T-F.)

West Gate – open until 9:00 am. Closed from 9:00 am until 15 minutes before dismissal. (2:07 pm on Mondays, 3:28 on T-F.)

To exit campus: (Possible at both East and West gates) Drive your vehicle towards the gate slowly. When your vehicle drives over the sensor embedded in the asphalt, the gate will open.

To enter campus: (Only possible using the East gate) Drive up to the keypad and enter valid code. Only eligible staff will receive a code. Parents and visitors will NOT be able to enter the campus through this gate. Please report to the Main Office.

If you experience issues with the security gate, please move your vehicle to a safe location and visit the office.

Franklin (Ag) gate

The Franklin security gate will be open for arrival/drop-off and dismissal/pick-up.

Franklin Gate Schedule – open until 9:00 am. Closed from 9:00 am until 15 minutes before dismissal. (2:07 pm on Mondays, 3:28 on T-F.)

To exit: Drive your vehicle towards the gate slowly. When your vehicle drives over the sensor embedded in the asphalt, the gate will open.

To enter: Eligible staff will be assigned a code or badge when gate is fully operational. We will post a staff member at the gate to open for approved visitors/student until keypad is operational. If no staff member present, please visit the office for assistance. Only eligible staff will receive a code. Parents and visitors will NOT be able to enter the campus through this gate. Please report to the Main Office.

If you experience issues with the security gate, please move your vehicle to a safe location and visit the office.

STUDENTS: Students may park in the Ag area however, they MUST arrive before the gate closes at 9:00 am. There will be no late entrance for students. Please note – when the security gates are fully operational, students will NOT be able to re-enter once they leave. Students will NOT be issued access codes. This means, if you leave for lunch, you will have to park elsewhere upon return. Additionally, there will be a walk though gate for foot traffic. However, it will follow the same schedule as the drive-in gate. Late arrivals will be required to enter via main office.

Final comments: We realize that these changes will cause some initial conflicts and problems. TUSD and THS feel that campus security is paramount. We ask that you adjust your routines as needed and allow time for adjustment and flexibility. We are willing to adjust and/or adapt if an unforeseen complexity arises. Please communicate with us when issues arise. We will continue to update you as the process improves.

Sincerely,

Jon Waggle

Principal – Tracy High School

Welcome Back Bulldogs!

The first day of school is almost in the books. Photos show the 'Red Carpet Welcome' students received when entering campus. Leadership students and the Marching Band were on hand to welcome all. The second photo is the new security barrier in the foyer of the A building. This transparent wall increases security in a busy classroom building while not destroying the beautiful aesthetic we love so much! Go Bulldogs.

Hello again Bulldog families.

The start of the school year is quickly approaching. I am reaching out to you today to share some updates, tips, and to answer some frequently asked questions (FAQ) that we get this time of year. Please read the FAQ (at end of this post) as many of your questions are already addressed there. I will contact you again the week before school starts to share some areas that we would like to partner with parents on to improve student outcomes.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND COMPLETELY

All families MUST complete Data Confirmation before completing the registration process on the assigned date. Parents MUST have a TUSD Aeries Parent Portal account to access the Data Confirmation process.

• You access Data Confirmation through your Aeries Parent Portal https://tracyusd.aeries.net/student/LoginParent.aspx

• Data Confirmation guide: https://tracyhigh.tracy.k12.ca.us/parent-student-information/registration. (You do NOT need to print out the Emergency Card as the guide describes. I believe the button has been removed. We can verify using Aeries on site)

• Create an Aeries Parent Portal account (if necessary) https://www.tracy.k12.ca.us/parentstudent-information/aeries-parent-information/aeries-parentstudent-portal-registration

SCHEDULE PICKUP and FINAL STUDENT REGISTRATION times

Monday, July 27
Freshmen 8:30-12:00 pm & 1:30-4:00 pm
Seniors 1:30-4:00 pm
• ALL Freshmen families can use either slot. We wanted to avoid long lines at 8:30 am. (Pro Tip: arrive during the last hour of your time slot. Lines are usually very short.)

Wednesday, July 29
Sophomores 8:30-12:00 pm
Juniors 1:30-4:00 pm

All groups - Please begin the process in building A (two-story on corner of 11th and East). The process will have the following steps: Data Confirmation verification, Laptop checkout (grade 9 and new students only), purchase items (PE clothes, ASB passes, Yearbooks, THS gear, etc., unless pre-purchased online), school photo (smile!), Student ID card, class schedule pickup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I pre-purchase THS clothing and items that my student needs?
A: After completing Data Confirmation, you will be able to access the Student Store under the ACTIVITIES/ATHLETICS menu on the school website https://tracyhigh.tracy.k12.ca.us/

Q: Can I attend the Freshmen Orientation on the 31st with my student?
A: Unfortunately, no. We want to help create strong, resilient, and responsible young adults. They will have a great time.

Q: Is Freshmen Orientation required?
A: No. It is a lot of fun though. Why skip that?

Q: We are on vacation that day and cannot make the assigned date. Can we come on one of the other dates? Can I (the parent) come even if my student cannot?
A: No. If your student is unable to attend the assigned date, late registration will occur on the first day of school. Students will be able to complete the process in room D-210 on August 3rd.

Q: I tried to access Data Conformation link. It doesn’t work.
A: That link is not active until July 20th. If you have issues after that, please let us know ASAP.

Q: Can I access my student’s schedule through Aeries?
A: Access to that information will become accessible after 5 pm on July 31st. Please prepare for that by using the link provided earlier to register on Aeries Parent Portal. Attending the registration event on the assigned date is the fastest way to get your student’s schedule.

Q: Can I change my schedule? How?
A: We do NOT change schedules to change teachers or lunches. Counselors will be available at the registration event if you have questions or change requests. Due to class size limits and staffing, we cannot accommodate all change requests.

Q: Are there recommended supplies lists?
A: Not from the school. Individual teachers may have requirements for certain things. They will let you know during the first week of school.

Thank you for reading. Feel free to email me if you have questions.

Go BULLDOGS!

Hello Bulldog Nation. Principal Waggle with one final update and reminder. Please see linked Graduation Expectations documents in the SCHOOL NEWS section at https://tracyhigh.tracy.k12.ca.us/. They have all the details you will need.

There will be a QR code posted in the stadium for you to access the program tomorrow.

Some highlights to take note of...

1. Graduation practice will be held on Friday - May 29th at 8:15 am. All graduating seniors are to report to the visitor bleachers. Students must participate in graduation practice to be eligible to participate in the Friday Graduation ceremony. We hope to finish by 10:45 am.

2. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by their parents. Graduation is held at Tracy High School – Wayne Schneider Stadium. Please arrive early to ensure you are sitting together. This is a ticketed event. Children 2+ must have a ticket. Gates open at 6:00 pm. Parking is very limited.

3. For each student and their family to enjoy their student’s moment, we are asking the audience to remain in the stands during graduation. Please do not attempt to go onto the field to meet your graduate during the ceremony. Disruptiveness during the ceremony due to audience interference distracts from each student’s opportunity to receive their diploma in a dignified fashion.

4. Umbrellas, balloons, or items that may obstruct others’ views i.e. pop-ups, posters, fatheads, are NOT allowed into the stadium for the ceremony.

5. Please, please, please - do not bring glitter or confetti cannons or similar products. Cleaning the glitter out of the turf is extremely difficult. Thank you.

6. Graduates may wear club cords/sashes, award sashes, money leis, and items offered by student fundraiser immediately activities outside the stadium gates. Items purchased from non-approved vendors and “home-made” items are allowed however, they must align with the celebratory nature of graduation and must adhere to school rules regarding imagery and phrases. No images/words/symbols that would be deemed inappropriate in a school setting are prohibited and will be confiscated before the ceremony commences.

7. Diplomas will be available for pickup on Monday June 1st in the EB Theater Foyer from 8:00 to 11:00 am. The Diploma will ONLY be given to the graduate. Please have your student ID or a valid Driver’s License for verification of identity.

8. Absolutely NO alterations to the graduation cap or gown will be allowed. I will wear my graduation cap and gown throughout the ceremony.

9. Everyone in attendance MUST have a great time and cheer for your graduate. We love our students and we want them to feel as proud as we do.

See you Friday!
