Summer Camps Start Tomorrow. The resounding response to our popular camps has been really heartening. We are looking forward to making sure that children enjoy the art of writing. 10 weeks—in-person camps for ages 7-14 and virtual camps for ages 10-18 in seven cities—Millbrae, San Carlos, Campbell, Fremont, San Ramon, Pleasanton, and Tracy.

Lekha Writing Center is now conducting online classes in academic writing and creative writing to children between the ages of 7 - 17 yrs.

We had a great first week of summer last week. We conducted two camps in San Ramon The Art of Persuasion and Create-A-Book.

Tomorrow will see us in three cities - San Ramon, Pleasanton, and Tracy. Both camps in Pleasanton are full. We were able to open up more spots in Tracy and the teen camp in San Ramon has a good number too.

We had a wonderful showing last week at the San Ramon Summer Camp Fair!

The rain stopped and the sun shone for just the right amount of time.Families came out in large numbers to see what summer would be like.Children enjoyed the activities as they got their passports stamped at each booth.Vendors thanked the elements as they got a chance to talk about their passions.

We'd like to thank all of you stopped by our booth and asked us questions. Thank you to all who told us that their children loved our camps last year. Thanks to those that told us that they had heard about us and were looking forward to sending their children this year. It is amazing to see how quickly our camps are filling up! Thank you, City of San Ramon for making sure we all had a great time. We at Lekha Ink are looking forward to spring and summer!

Thanks to those that told us that they had heard about us and were looking forward to sending their children this year. Thanks to the children who stopped by just because they love to read and write. You stopped by even though we did not have any candy or "fun" freebies to offer you. Thank you City of Millbrae for conducting your first ever camp fair. Looking forward to more in the future.

A look back at 2021 as we leap forward into the new year!

A big thank you to all who made 2021 a year of possibilities for us.

A year that saw us teaching students from all the four corners of the country.
A year when we successfully taught hybrid and virtual classes in addition to the signature in-person classes.
A year that saw our children's magazine, Young Wordsmiths, double its readership.
A year when we reflected on the changes that will guide the company through a successful future.
A year that helped us concentrate on taking the company back to its publishing roots.
A year that guided me to follow my passion for researching stories from different lands and pursue my doctoral studies.

This was a year of survival. We saw COVID19 affect our students, teachers, and their families in many ways - Ways that took them back a few notches and saw them climb up again. A time when our families and the country as a whole showed their resilience and will to do better.

It is with prayers for a safe and healthy 2022 that I send this message to you, my extended family of Lekha parents, students, staff, and well-wishers, without whom we would not be where we are. Let us work together and create many more young wordsmiths this year! #2022

Since 2007 packing kits for Lekha instructors has been a ritual for me. I've always looked forward to instructor training day when I tried to impress my philosophy on the new teachers and handed out the teaching kits and crates on wheels to each teacher.

Making sure that every sniffle would be contained, every hand would be clean, and every surface would be sanitized was and is very important to me. In addition, it's essential to make sure that no child was low on paper, pencils, or Lekha swag. This year we trained over Zoom just like we did last year. I've just added a thermometer and some masks for the in-person camps in every teacher's kit.

Looking forward to teaching tomorrow in San Ramon. So come on now, grab your masks and get to writing!
