Join us for Learning the Basics: ADHD, a three-hour training that goes beyond the label to explore how ADHD may show up in everyday routines, interactions, and learning experiences. Participants will gain practical strategies they can use in their programs and strengthen their ability to partner with families in supporting children with ADHD.

🧡 October is ADHD Awareness Month!

When a child is constantly moving, struggling to wait, having difficulty shifting between activities, or losing focus, it can be easy to concentrate on stopping the behavior. But what changes when we get curious about what the behavior is communicating instead?

ADHD can affect attention, impulse control, activity level, and regulation, and it doesn’t look the same in every child. Understanding those differences can help us move away from labels like “difficult,” “disruptive,” or “not listening” and toward supports that help children participate successfully.

💙💛 October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month!

This month is an opportunity to celebrate people with Down Syndrome, challenge assumptions, and recognize the importance of high expectations and meaningful inclusion.

Every child with Down Syndrome is an individual, with their own personality, interests, strengths, needs, and goals. As early childhood professionals, we can help create environments where children are not simply included in the room, but are supported to participate, build relationships, learn, and belong.

Let’s continue building communities that recognize what children can do and make space for every child to be fully included.

📅 Three-Part Virtual Training Series Begins October 6th

Did you know? Many children with Down Syndrome benefit from visual learning strategies, such as pictures and gestures. Understanding individual strengths and learning needs can help child care providers create inclusive environments where children with Down Syndrome can learn, participate, and thrive.

Join us for Learning the Basics: Down Syndrome, a three-part professional development series designed to build foundational knowledge about Down Syndrome and explore practical ways to support children and families.

📅 October 6 – Foundational training on Down Syndrome, development, inclusion, and community resources

💬 October 13 – Follow-up discussion with Amanda Mummert, LPN, MNPM from the Down Syndrome Association of Maryland, featuring additional information, questions, and action planning

💬 October 20 – Continue the conversation with Amanda as you deepen your understanding and develop practical next steps for your program

Participants who attend all three sessions will earn 5 COK hours.
