Dude needed to tap faster so ref could stop fight sooner. Hornbuckle slapped it on so fast his opponent had little time to tap. Reminiscent of how fast Ronda Rousey applied straight arm bars in her prime. Anytime an armbar is applied that fast something is getting ripped, dislocated or broken. That’s a speed that is great for the streets but also is a quick way to end a MMA bout or a BJJ match. I’m not saying I agree with the speed in which it was applied for the win but I am saying it is effective. I would have personally secured the arm, solidified position, and slowly applied pressure to get the tap because just grabbing it and ripping it is just something I reserve for the street in a real life and death scenario not in a sporting match. That’s not very good sportsmanship in my book. As soon as he realized the elbow had popped he still waited for the tap and didn’t release it until the ref told him to. That was unnecessary.
