Congratulations to Ben Virgilio '27 on recently joining the ranks of Eagle Scout and the Calvert Hall Eagles Nest. For his Eagle Scout project, Ben designed and installed signage at Flourish Field, an accessible area of First Fruits Farm created to provide meaningful volunteer opportunities for individuals with disabilities or mobility challenges. Flourish Field showcases many of the crops grown throughout the farm, allowing volunteers to experience and contribute to its mission without navigating the larger fields.

Today’s Alumni Spotlight shines on Bill Leahy `87, who will be inducted into the National Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association Hall of Fame as part of its 2026 class.

After graduating from Calvert Hall, Bill built the La Salle College High School lacrosse program from the ground up, leading the Explorers from 1992 through 2019. His teams compiled a 512-115 record, won five state championships and 23 Catholic League titles, and he became one of just 19 boys’ high school lacrosse coaches in the country to reach 500 career victories.

Bill’s impact extends beyond the field. He has served as a teacher, campus minister, guidance counselor, and mentor at La Salle, while also coaching Team USA and helping develop generations of student-athletes.
