This Labor Day, we’re celebrating the workers who make our schools,
communities, and cities possible, as well as the generations of workers who
organized to make a better workplace possible for those who came after them.

The rights we have at work didn’t happen by accident. Workers won them by
coming together, organizing, and demanding better.

And that work continues.

For TABCO members, Time & Dignity means continuing that tradition: standing
together for the time, respect, fair compensation, and working conditions
educators and specialized instructional support professionals deserve.

Here’s to solidarity, collective power, and the ongoing fight for dignity at work. ✊

What does it mean to have dignity at work?

It means more than a paycheck. It means having enough time to live your life, care for your family, recover, participate in your community, and be a whole person outside of work.

That’s the heart of TABCO’s Time & Dignity campaign: building a workplace where our time is respected, our work is valued, and our dignity is protected.

The TABCO Sick Leave Bank is one way we put solidarity into practice.

When a qualifying illness, injury, pregnancy, or other covered circumstance leaves a member without accumulated sick leave, the Sick Leave Bank can provide additional paid leave to eligible contributors.

Today, on Women's Equality Day, we commemorate the certification of the 19th Amendment and honor the generations of women who fought (and continue to fight) for equal rights, opportunity, and representation.

We also recognize the women who strengthen our schools, our communities, and our union every day.

Educators, education support professionals, and advocates have long been at the forefront of movements for equity, fairness, and public education.

As we celebrate this day, we reaffirm our commitment to standing together for workplaces where every member is respected, valued, and empowered.

Tonight, on BCPS BOE, it's the "Pieces of the Puzzle" edition! Before you head out to buy those new back to school wardrobes, pop on in to listen to the Board working together on the 2028 Capital Budget, hear public comments, and consider action on Puzzle Pieces Learning academy Public Charter school. And I will be doing all this while trying to put together a rabbit hutch despite the fact that I told the Mrs. I was busy because "You can't be that busy if you are in your pajamas already" All this, plus your comments, tonight at 6:30
