TU Community Dance Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance, the TUCD program promotes an appreciation of the aesthetics of dance as an art form.

Towson University Community Dance is an extension of the Department of Dance. Its mission reflects the department’s mission of advocating “Dancing for a Lifetime.”

The comprehensive curriculum, renowned departmental faculty, and highly trained instructors offer excellence in dance education for children, adults and professionals. These three distinct programs – Children’s Dance, Adult Dance ,and Professional Collaborative Partnerships – greatly contribute to the growth of artists in the state of Maryland. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD), the TU Community Dance program promotes an appreciation of the aesthetics of dance as an art form. It offers dance movers, educators and enthusiasts a stimulating and inviting environment to develop their technical excellence and deepen their artistic voice through a multifaceted curriculum.

The Towson University Dance Company presents a vibrant evening of ballet, modern, contemporary, and house dance works under the direction of Runqiao Du and Alison Seidenstricker. The program showcases new creations by the Artistic Directors, along with works by Professors Vincent E. Thomas and Sarah Olson and Guest Artist Eddie Stockton.

We have two exciting opportunities coming up this summer! Whether you’re looking to explore new movement styles or continue your ballet training, we have something for you.
Move-Move with Kemba Shannon
July 30 & August 6, 2026
6:00–7:15 PM
$25 (fee includes both classes)
A fun, energetic class that combines modern, jazz, hip-hop, and African dance to make your body feel good! This class includes warm-ups, across-the-floor exercises, floor barre, and choreography.
All ages and levels are invited to dance with Kemba and experience the joy of movement. Please bring a towel and water bottle!
