Goucher College alumnae/i and friends: Applications are now open to host a remote, project-based micro-internship during J-Term, January 4–22, 2027.

Through this collaborative program, the Office of Alumnae/i Engagement and Career Education Office connect Goucher students with alumni and friends for meaningful, real-world professional projects that help students gain experience, build skills, and explore career pathways. There’s no cost to hosts. Student micro-awards are funded through Goucher’s Intern Funding program.

Since 2020, more than 160 hosts have supported 424 Goucher students through micro-internships.

This past weekend, the 2026–2027 Goucher College AAGC Board of Directors and Committee members came together on campus for our annual retreat to connect, collaborate, and plan for the year ahead.

Together, they’re dreaming big, sharing ideas, and building the future of Goucher engagement and creating new ways to connect our 23,000+ alumnae/i around the world and inspire the next generation of changemakers.

This month’s Global Changemaker is Ruut Demeo ’20!

Ruut studied creative writing and music at Goucher. Her music and creativity inspired all and she received a Kratz Writing Fellowship and the Applestein Sweren Book Collecting Prize. Now, Ruut is the founder and president of Making Her Mark Foundation.

She says, “My nonprofit exists to strengthen women artists’ capacity as creators and community leaders; this is why it’s so incredibly fitting that I was able to pursue a career as a teacher, professor, and curriculum maker, thanks to my excellent education from Goucher College.” You’re making us , Ruut!
