Your leadership program worked. And nothing changed.
The room was full.
The feedback was positive.
Six weeks later, the behavior is exactly the same.
If you’ve ever sat in one of these programs, you’ve seen this.
That’s what leaders call me to fix.
Leaders heard what was said.
They agreed with it.
Then went back to full calendars in environments that reward the very behavior they were just asked to change.
No shared language to carry it forward.
No expectation to use it.
No structure that makes it stick.
So nothing changes.
Behavior shifts when the system around it changes.
The organizations that get real change do this differently.
They design what happens after the program with the same intention as the program itself.
Before the session ends, they’ve already answered:
What will be used on Monday?
Where will this show up in real work?
Who is holding it in place?
A training is a spark.
The environment’s leaders return to determine what happens next.
Most organizations invest in the spark.
Very few build what sustains it.
What does your organization put in place after a program ends?
