Can my incoming freshman bring a car to campus?

🚗 First-year residential students are generally not eligible to purchase a parking permit until they have earned 30 college credits.

New students are encouraged to take advantage of the many resources, services, and activities available within walking distance from their residence hall.

Towson University's Parking & Transportation Office can provide more information about vehicles and parking on campus.

What safety measures are in place in our residence halls?

🔒 Student safety is a top priority at Towson University. Our residential communities have multiple security measures in place to help create a safe living environment.

🏢 Building Access
• Swipe card access is required to enter residential buildings
• Students must have the appropriate building sticker associated with their residence hall
• Elevators require swipe access

🚪 Room Security
• Individual rooms and units are secured with physical keys

👥 Staff Support
• All Community Centers/front desks are staffed 24 hours a day
• Resident Assistants (RAs) and professional staff are on call during nights and weekends to respond to emergencies and provide support

📝 Guest Procedures
• All guests must sign in at the front desk using a valid photo ID
• Guests must remain with their host at all times while in the building

Does my student need a meal plan? Let's find out!

🍽️ For most residential students, the answer is yes.

Students living in residence halls and on floors 2–5 of 10- West are required to have a meal plan.

🏢 Living in an apartment?
Students living in apartments are not required to purchase a meal plan. Because these spaces include full kitchens, students have the flexibility to prepare their own meals or choose a meal plan that fits their needs.
