Wonder Years Preschool Townsend Where learning is engaging, active, and fun! We offer half day and full day preschool 3,4, or 5 days a week for ages 2.9 - 5 years old.

Classes are taught by a certified teacher with 15+ years experience teaching in Pre-K through 2nd grade classrooms. We follow the NMRSD calendar. Our program provides days filled with hands-on learning experiences designed to encourage active learning.

This time of the year always gets me a little emotional. 🥹

Some of these kiddos are walking out our front door for the last time, headed off to Kindergarten this fall. It’s been so amazing watching them grow into the confident, capable little learners they are today. We are SO proud of you!

To our friends coming back in the fall, we cannot wait! There’s more fun, more learning, and more messes to be made together. 😊

We eat roots? We eat flowers?

We explored fruits and veggies using all five senses.

We got to work dissecting our fruits and vegetables, describing everything we found along the way. Hard. Soft. Squishy. Seeds inside. Seeds outside. No seeds. Some of our friends worked extra hard to carefully collect every seed they could find.

Float or sink? Our big experiment was a huge hit. We made our predictions first and then put them to the test. Science in action.

We placed each fruit and vegetable on a diagram of a plant and discovered something pretty amazing. We eat ALL parts of a plant. The roots (carrots/potatoes). The stem (celery). The leaves (spinach). The flower (broccoli) . The fruit (apples/strawberries)

And because we can never resist making art - we used our fruits and veggies to create something beautiful too.

When the lights go out, the learning lights up.

Every year Glow Day is one of our most anticipated themes-and every year we make it even better. This year did not disappoint!

It looks like pure fun from the outside. And it absolutely is. But so much more is happening underneath all that neon glow.

Mixing colors with fluorescent paint- little scientists discovering what happens when colors combine under UV light.

Building patterns on the light table with pattern blocks - tiny focused hands doing big math thinking.

Sensory play with glow-sticks in play dough trays -squishing, poking, and creating with a magical glowing twist.

Following patterns with light up sticks - math skills hiding in a really cool activity.

Engineering a glowing city with glow in the dark blocks - spatial thinking, creativity, and collaboration all in one.

They think they’re just having the best day ever.

They are. And they’re growing while they do it. ❤️

Now Enrolling for the 2026-2027 Preschool Year!

We are currently welcoming new families to join our small, nurturing preschool community.

Our program offers:

• A small class size (10 children)
• Experienced, caring teachers
• An emergent, child-centered curriculum
• Differentiated instruction based on each child’s needs
• A supportive environment where children feel confident and excited to learn.

We offer:

• 2 day or 4 day program (aligned with the NM school schedule in most cases)
• Half-day option (4 hours)
• Full-day option

Progress reports are shared twice a year and we work closely with families to support each child’s growth.

Many of our current students will be heading off to Kindergarten this fall, and we are excited to welcome a new group of learners!
