The Lambda Xi Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi (sigmadeltapi.org) is one of the 626 chapters committed to academic excellence in the Spanish discipline in the United States. The Romance Languages and Li

teratures Department at Colgate University seeks to be an active Chapter that promotes diverse cultural and literary activities on Hispanic themes in order to motivate students to be active members of our department and the community in general. Some student-led activities include, but are not limited to: academic colloquia, poetry readings, theatrical productions, film presentations, cultural events, and professional development.

Congratulations to all of our seniors of Sigma Delta Pi who were given their cords and stoles at the annual Ceremonia de clausura y graduación this past Thursday! Your dedication to Spanish language and literature is unmatched! We want to thank Professor Osvaldo Sandoval Leon for his support and leadership of our chapter and for his congratulatory words at the event, the chair of the department, Patrick Riley, for his constant support of Sigma Delta Pi events and his wonderful speech, and Professor Juan Manuel Ramírez Velázquez for his dedication to supporting students in our chapter and his moving and inspiring speech! Thank you also to our president and vice president, Jaquelin Guevara and Merlin Aguilar, for sharing words about their amazing journey through the Colgate Spanish department. Congratulations to all of our seniors of Sigma Delta Pi who were given their cords and stoles at the annual Ceremonia de clausura y graduación this past Thursday!
