Myrtle's Turtles have arrived at Myrtle E. And Earl E. Walker Hall! Next time you are on campus at Maryville, stop by for a selfie! Myrtle Walker aspired to become an artist but had to turn down a scholarship for tuition to Northwestern University in 1938, because her family couldn't afford the room and board. When she and husband Earl founded Carr Lane Manufacturing Co., Myrtle used her artistic talents to draw up the blueprints for the parts. Myrtle's Turtles were cast in the family's foundry and have been gifted to people and places important to them, including the children of the Walker Scottish Rite Clinic!
