BCA offers young adults the opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills in the work world and provide assistance with career exploration, job search and resume writing, paid work experiences and on-the-job training opportunities. MISSION STATEMENT

Stevens Amendment

The Stevens Amendment is an appropriations provision that requires grantees of the Department of Labor (DOL), Health and Human Services (HHS), and Education to disclose for a grant program the percent of the costs financed with federal funds. Public Law 101-166, Section 511

* Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs are federally supported 100% by the U.S. Department of Labor as part of an award totaling $1,551,167 with $0 (0%) state, local and/or non-governmental funds.

* Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) programs are federally supported 100% by the U.S. Department of Human Services as part of an award totaling $557,876 with $0 (0%) state, local, and/or non-governmental funds.

* Discretionary grants are federally supported 100% by the U.S. Department of Labor as part of an award totaling $296,592 with $234,649 (79.11%) state, local and/or non-governmental funds. These WIOA education programs are federally funded as part of a grant to Bradford County Action, Inc. by the PA Department of Education totaling $84,978 with $21,245 (25%) in local match funds. Funding also provided in Bradford County by the United Way of Bradford County. Babel Notice

Today, we’re proud to spotlight Bradford County Action, Inc., an organization dedicated to helping individuals build skills, find opportunities, and work toward a brighter future.

Founded in 1966, Bradford County Action is a community-based nonprofit providing education, employment, and training services for both adults and youth. Their programs help people develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed in school, the workplace, and their communities.

Their services include GED® classes, academic assistance, career preparation and exploration, job readiness, job search activities, classroom training, on-the-job training, supportive services, and youth employment opportunities. They also provide employer services, helping connect businesses and organizations with qualified employees through work experience and training programs.

Bradford County Action also provides GED® education and testing opportunities in Tioga County, helping local residents take an important step toward further education and employment.
